Why digital cameras are no good07 May 2005 12:48 GMT18
I feel qualified to speak to this because over the years I have had so
many people who were anxious to tell me why digital cameras were no
good.
The part that amuses me is that as digital cameras have been getting
Blurry photos w/Sony DSC-P10007 May 2005 12:17 GMT3
WHen I take a indoor photo with flash on, let's say 15 people sitting
around a table and I zoom it in about 1/2 way to max nine out of ten
times the photos are blurry.
Why, I have the setting as they should be, I think.
auto settings on Coolpix 99507 May 2005 11:34 GMT6
A real newbie with all this but I'm trying to get some idea of  how
"automatic" this camera's auto settings are.
For example, to capture running water in lowish light I selected 1000/ 3.9
with an ISO of 800 and got a good shot, but there was no way I could get
Problems with Behr Stain07 May 2005 10:55 GMT1
I applied Behr Super Raw Hide stain on my cedar siding on two
houses, within 6 months they started turning black and peeling under the
stain. A year later I heard of a law suit in the state of Washington
just above us here in Oregon. They had just won a lawsuit on the same

Baby coming, photos to be taken07 May 2005 05:39 GMT1
I don't know that you would require an SLR for baby photos. I have a
five month old at the moment and the only saving grace for using an SLR
is shooting low light without a flash. I haven't made any prints larger
than 8x10/8x12 and a 4mp camera would be fine for that.

Announcement: A New Sorter for Photo Organizing Programs NOT SPAM07 May 2005 05:00 GMT12
If you're like me, AND I KNOW YOU ARE YOU JUST WON'T ADMIT IT, you've
collected a lot of convenient photo organizing programs on your
computer, fighting to rename your thumbnail images, all handy, all
different. Well, isn't it time you got META-ORGANIZED, Mr. Sharpshooter?

Aspect ratios07 May 2005 03:31 GMT19
I currently have a Canon S50 which takes photos in 4:3 ratio like many
compacts. I convert all the photos I take to 3:2 for printing purposes (at
Jessops, ASDA etc..) and so I have 2 copies of each photo I take, 1 in 4:3
and 1 in 3:2. This obviously takes up quite a bit of space and ...
art & modern technology07 May 2005 02:57 GMT2
I'm curious to know whcih direction fine art
photographers are taking in terms of selling limited editions of their
work in an era where digital photography has reached a point where
digital quality is now of comparable quality, in most cases, to film.
