Sony 828 vs Olympus 8080 (chronic palpitations aside)30 May 2005 11:49 GMT14
I have tried and tested for a long time and came up with the Olympus
8080. Now after fondling the Sony I find it to be most tempting. The
very fine quality finish, Carl Zeiss lens F2,wide angle are most
impressive. However, I am an amateur with a good eye and need some
Canon Shutter Speed30 May 2005 08:21 GMT1
On my old Canon S200 the shutter speed was often a problem.  I had to
wait while the picture snapped.
I am considering buyin a new Canon S410.  Is the shutter speed faster
now?

entirely. mercedes want to print out 250,000 copies of a picture of mine at

Poor quality digicamera pics - help!30 May 2005 02:16 GMT6
The quality of my digipic images seems to have deteriorated recently ...may
be my imagination but don't think so..
..anyone know if camera memory cards can deteriorate after a time...or do
they keep same quality until total failure?
Foveon schematics?30 May 2005 01:53 GMT34
Anyone knowing the technical reasons for Foveon type sensor producing
so poor colors?  What I saw mentioned is that 3 channels stored in the
RAW format are almost identical.  However, the theory looks very
sound: if you have 3 sensors, each of thickness 1 micron, stacked on
M. Tapes & RSE-- Frankly, I'm Concerned30 May 2005 00:34 GMT2
Wasn't it just a month or so ago that M. Tapes was singing the praises of
Capture One?  Now that RSE is on the verge of releasing their first
commercial (re: PAID) version of their software, I am a bit wary that M.
Tapes is on their bandwagon. More precisely, I'm wondering how long ...
Pictures of a car29 May 2005 23:36 GMT8
I understand you need to obtain a signed release for commercial publication
of a picture of an identifiable person.
I hope this isn't a totally stupid question, but does anything similar apply
to cars? This is in the context of exhibits at a vintage or specialist car
Mega Pixels29 May 2005 23:30 GMT18
I just wanted to ask a couple of questions. I am going to purchase a digital
camera, I am not sure what is better quality 3 or 5 mega pixels (I cant
remember if the higher numbers are better or the lower), and if 3 is the
lower quality, how bad is it? I mean pics that are taken ...
ANNI GETS A NEW TOY !!!29 May 2005 22:02 GMT13
Today the big brown truck brought me a
Canon 1.4x II Teleconverter.  I was eager
to see how it would function with the 20D
and the 400 f/5.6L.
Renting Lenses In The UK29 May 2005 21:58 GMT7

400MM prime).  Cheers.
Canon IP4000 Pixma ink low query29 May 2005 20:22 GMT3
Howdy. I've enjoyed this printer, but after about 200-250 4X6 prints, it now
says that the "ink is running low" on the yellow (6) cartridge. Two
questions:
1) How long do I have before I the cartridge is totally out and printing
Canon 20D colors - Pink lips29 May 2005 19:23 GMT39
Just bought a Canon 20d camera. It's a nice camera but I'm not happy with
the face colors. My pictures of (white) men all have pink lips. And the
faces are pale.
I don't have this problem with my Nikon D100.
