Maintenance issues?09 May 2005 05:52 GMT1
I'm wondering about moving parts in digital cameras--more specifically, the

I am looking for a digital camera that supports high-speed USB 2.0,
that is a data rate of >12Mbit/s.
So far I've found the Sony Cyber-shot P100 and P120.  The other one I
know is the HP PhotoSmart R707.

Recovering deleted photos08 May 2005 19:47 GMT2
I just had a mishap.  I went to take a picture after taking the camera
out of it's case.  I had bumped the mode switch to "movie".  When I went
to take the picture, the red light stayed on like it was having trouble
saving the photo.  Then I discovered it was taking a movie of my ...

adobe photoshop problem with B & W08 May 2005 16:30 GMT2
I recently downloaded some old Matthew Brady stuff from the internet
and came upon a problem I've never encountered before. Some of the
images were a bit washed out, so I popped up Photoshop to work on
them, spruce up the contrast, and work on the various gradations, as I
Lionel's meltdown is one of the longest in AUK history08 May 2005 15:46 GMT4
Assume for a moment there was no AUK, nor any kind of self-appointed
troll and kookhunting clique with whom Lionel could affiliate himself.
Take a zen mental break and imagine Lionel on his own in a Usenet
multiverse in which he has no friends backing him up or coping
