| Write speed problem with Extreme III on Coolpix5700 | 11 May 2005 14:51 GMT | 15 |
I have received my Sandisk Extreme III CompactFlash which is supposed to have a write speed of 20MB/sec. When I do a picture of 7MB, I get a write time of 10 seconds. It should be no more than 1/3 second. Does anyone have an explanation for this?

| Fred Hall is laughing when he calls you Chuck | 11 May 2005 14:22 GMT | 2 |
He laughs at you on usenet and on the phone like Kevin Cannon. It only takes 25 cents of money to make a payphone call from TX. Fred Hall also claims you resemble the image of the guy on the Mr. Clean bottle that janitors use.

| 350D Kit or Body & another lens? | 11 May 2005 07:47 GMT | 10 |
I am currently looking at getting a 350D to replace my S50. Main reasons for the upgrade are I much prefer using an SLR (but my 35mm SLR has long being gathering dust since the digital age) and I want better performance in low light situations, the compact just does not cut it at ...

| FinePix s7000 | 11 May 2005 06:13 GMT | 7 |
I am looking for a new camera. One major requirement is support for external flash/hot shoe. I will probably not usually be creating greater than 3M pixel images, but I would hope to get very good quality at that size. Higher res wouldn't hurt,

| A penny for your thoughts. 105mm f/2.8 + 50mm f/1.4 | 11 May 2005 04:04 GMT | 20 |
I was able to pick up a 52mm reversing ring this evening for these two lenses and tried adding an old 50mm F/1.4 AI Nikkor to my 105mm F/2.8D Micro Nikkor and I must say I'm really impressed at the improvement of magnification over just using the 105mm. These were shot at a 45* ...

| Sony Neutral Density Filter (VF-30NK) | 11 May 2005 03:54 GMT | 1 |
I'm thinking about buying this filter. Does anyone have any info on it? I'd like to know if I can use a zoom lens with it. It's hard to tell from the pic on the Sony site. Also, if anyone has some sample pics, that would be great as well!

I have a Panasonic FZ3 camera and need a DMW-CAC1 AC adapter by 5-17. I tried Panasonic, google, and local stores. Everyone is out of this item. If anyone can tell me where to buy one and receive it by 5-17, I'll think of some token reward. Leaving on Alaska cruise on May 18.

| A compact camera that can handle higher ISO | 10 May 2005 23:25 GMT | 1 |
Not to sound like a commercial for the Fuji film F10, but after reading the review on dpreview, it was refreshing to see the direction they're going with the the noise issue on compacts. It handled ISO 400 well and even usable 800. 1600 was a stretch. Certainly no SLR, but it is ...
