Printing at home versus lab13 May 2005 17:10 GMT29
Picked up some Epson 6x4" glossy paper today from Jessops.  It was £6.49 for
50 sheets and was on offer at buy one get one free.
Never done any digital printing at home before but the offer was on and
thought I would give it a go.
3MP from a 6MP?13 May 2005 17:00 GMT18
When set to 3MP, how does a 6MP camera generate the image? Logically,
I would expect it to throw away every other pixel, but is that really
what happens?

What is the difference between "Aperture" and "F-Stop"13 May 2005 13:36 GMT18
In looking at the EXIF headers of my pictures, I notice separate entries
for "Aperture" and F-Stop".  Sometimes these entries are the same, and
sometimes they are different.  I have tried looking it up in several
glossaries, but haven't found anything that really explains the
Anyone Archive Their RAW Images as DNG's13 May 2005 10:32 GMT8
Anyone archive their RAW images as DNG's?
If so, have you noticed that the DNG file sizes are approx. 1-2MB smaller?
Why is this, are they compressed slightly during the conversion?
AA batteries13 May 2005 08:36 GMT80
I think one of the most desirable features of a digital camera whether
pro or point and shoot is the use of AA batteries. I loved my Olympus
5050Z (until it was stolen) because I could use NiMH and
non-rechargeable Lithium-ion AAs. Always had a fresh 4-pak on hand.

More importantly, would he think it tastes good?

Buy.com is once again offering another great memory deal, if you don't
mind sending in a rebate form.
This is for a Viking 256MB CompactFlash card which they are selling for
$3.86 after a mail-in rebate.
NiMH Battery Charger--Web Site Update, http://nordicgroup.us/chargers13 May 2005 06:14 GMT7
I've updated my battery charger web site at http://nordicgroup.us/chargers.
This site is primarily dedicated to comparing available AA/AAA NiMH chargers
that meet four criteria.
1. Maximum $80/? 70 street price when bundled with a minimum of 4 >=2000mA
PSE Organizer Saving13 May 2005 05:29 GMT3
Many times I edit a photo and save to TIFF or JPEG (12). The original
often is tagged or in a collection. However, is there a way to make the
tags/collection designation travel with the photo so I don't have to
find it in My Pictures first, then resignate?
Opinions please13 May 2005 04:36 GMT3
I have read the reviews looked at the lenses but would like some user
opinions.

Synchronization13 May 2005 03:49 GMT4
Is there any material available on how to synchronize the shutters of two
disimilar cameras?
I would like to take my two cameras and try to construct a digital stereo
camera, but I haven't the slightest idea of how to sync the shutters.
Recommended Digital Camera ... Need Opinions13 May 2005 03:26 GMT5
I am considering buying a new digital camera...before doing that I want
to ask this question to the people here:

Canon 20D Sharpness and Firmware?13 May 2005 03:17 GMT3
Does anyone know if there is a firmware upgrade to the Canon 20D
camera? I'm getting ready to but my first pro-sumer camera and I've
been reading that there is a sharpness issue with this camera.
Pictures come out soft. I am also interested in looking at the new
