Picked up some Epson 6x4" glossy paper today from Jessops. It was £6.49 for 50 sheets and was on offer at buy one get one free. Never done any digital printing at home before but the offer was on and thought I would give it a go.

When set to 3MP, how does a 6MP camera generate the image? Logically, I would expect it to throw away every other pixel, but is that really what happens?

Anyone archive their RAW images as DNG's? If so, have you noticed that the DNG file sizes are approx. 1-2MB smaller? Why is this, are they compressed slightly during the conversion?

I think one of the most desirable features of a digital camera whether pro or point and shoot is the use of AA batteries. I loved my Olympus 5050Z (until it was stolen) because I could use NiMH and non-rechargeable Lithium-ion AAs. Always had a fresh 4-pak on hand.

Many times I edit a photo and save to TIFF or JPEG (12). The original often is tagged or in a collection. However, is there a way to make the tags/collection designation travel with the photo so I don't have to find it in My Pictures first, then resignate?

Is there any material available on how to synchronize the shutters of two disimilar cameras? I would like to take my two cameras and try to construct a digital stereo camera, but I haven't the slightest idea of how to sync the shutters.
