Flash Technique Tutorials14 May 2005 02:01 GMT4
Now that I've got my Canon Digital Rebel XT, Canon Speedlites 550 EX
and 420 EX, I'm ready to start taking indoor shots with the added
creative touch of a two flash system. However, as a former film SLR
shooter with one non-dedicated flash and old 1980's technology, I'm a
Req: High resolution 35mm -> TIFF/RAW film development14 May 2005 01:40 GMT12
I'm looking for a way to develop my 35mm film to high quality (at least
2000 x 3000) TIFF or RAW images.  Most of the chains only provide 1000
x 1500 or worse, and the format is in highly compressed Jpeg.
Post-processing is impossible if you ever hope to print an 8x10 from
EOS 20D Firmware Upgrade14 May 2005 01:40 GMT6
When you go to the Canon site and look for the Firmware upgrade for
the 20D does it just display the same page?  What's the secret to
actually downloading the Firmware?  Tried it with Foxpro and IE... no
luck...
EOS 20d lense recommendations14 May 2005 01:11 GMT15
Contemplating purchasing EOS 20d but guess I need recommendations for
general use lenses (non-professional).  I expect I'll mostly shoot
indoor family photos (perhaps as many as 10 people wide/picture) at
night and outside mid day picnic shots most of the time.  For the

A good way to get into stock photography is with a "micropayment" site
such as this.......

you won't get much per sale ( 20c in this case ) but you WILL get MANY
Two GP questions13 May 2005 21:25 GMT3
GP = General Purpose
1)  What's the term for the petal shape of some lens hoods?  I've seen
the term but can't recall where.  This is one of those Catch-22 info
searches that requires the answer first...
Image Resizing13 May 2005 21:05 GMT23
I am looking for a piece of software that will do the following:
Resize a bunch of jpg files so that their largest edge is 1024. I have a
number of photos from a number of cameras. some were taken on a 4MP
camera, some on a 5MP camera. Some photos are horizontal, some are

I know that this isn't really photography, but it's a lot of fun playing
around with some of the Gimp plugins.
AA Battery Charger13 May 2005 20:06 GMT54
I recently bought a Canon Powershot A95, and I was wondering if anyone
had any recommendations on some good AA battery chargers.  I've heard
from some places that the 15 minute Engergizer battery chargers don't
charge the batteries to their full capacities.  Or atleast maybe give me
Movies out of focus with Sony DSC-W113 May 2005 20:00 GMT1
Whenever I take movies with this camera they always appear out of
focus.  The camera seems to be constantly refocusing, going in and out
of focus.
Any ideas?
Canon (OT)13 May 2005 19:59 GMT10
I recently read a thread where  somebody referred to his camera brand as
'Cannon', rather than
'Canon'. When someone corrected him, he insisted 'Cannon' was correct
because his spell

Global brightening13 May 2005 19:53 GMT377
Per the NYT, the amount of sunlight reaching the ground has been
increasing over the past 10 year or so reversing a dimming trend.
(Local dimness in Hong Kong/India remain).

Ive been working for almost a month and a half now attempting to get

started out taking  pictures with the Nikon D70 and the nikon micro
