Fuiji Finepix S5100 Lense Recommemdation16 May 2005 12:53 GMT5
I am looking for a zoom lense for my S5100 for closeups of birds and aquatic
creatures.
Fuiji doesn't offer much of a selection so was wondering if there are 3rd
party lenses, I believe it has a 52mm adapter.
Any need for Polarizing filter w/ digital and PS?16 May 2005 11:42 GMT12
I'm not a pro.  I guess I fall under "enthusiast."  I have an Olympus C5050
camera, with the WCON and TCON lenses, along with the FL20 flash (which, by
the way, is one of the best purchases I ever made - my indoor shots of my
children are so much better that I cannot imagine not ...

crappy indoor pictures and is hard to carry about.  I want something that
takes good low light photo and has the ability to take macro photos and crop
pictures any recomendations?
FZ20 Review16 May 2005 01:57 GMT16
I just read the review of the Panasonic FZ20.  I trying to see how much
of this also applies to the FZ5.  The primary negative as noted by Pop
Photo is Noise.  They said that a ISO 80 the results are noisy but
acceptable.  At all of the remaining ISO setting they said that the

digital SLR camera to take better pictures? I just want to know how much
First time out with the 350D15 May 2005 23:36 GMT6
I just wanted to introduce myself. I've been lurking here for a couple of
months and learned a lot. Now I need to learn to apply what I've read.
I received my new dRebel XT last week and I love it. My prior camera was the
Minolta Z2 P&S.
brightness problems15 May 2005 23:16 GMT17
I can't figure out why my 300D is over exposing all pictures that I take in
bright weather! It used to be near perfect and this last while it has been a
disaster. If I take a light reading on any of my film Canons and the picture
is perfect, the same picture taken with the 300D ...
S: Nikon D70 User Manual in SPANISH ...15 May 2005 23:15 GMT12
I bought a Nikon D70 and the package includes two printed
versions of the User Manual in German and French ONLY. I am only
able to fully understand this kind of manual in Spanish, English or Italian

10D overexposure and adjust in PS raw-image converter?15 May 2005 23:11 GMT18
Bruce Fraser's white paper at
http://www.adobe.com/digitalimag/pdfs/linear_gamma.pdf
makes the case that half the information in a digital capture is in
the fifth, or highest, stop. And some digital cameras can capture and
Fast Compact Flash Card15 May 2005 21:00 GMT5
I have been told that some compact flash cards are faster than others but I
don't see anyway to tell one from another when looking at them in the store.
There doesn't seem to be any objective rating measure on the package--except
for one that I saw. I have a couple of the compact ...
Which of two Nikon lenses?15 May 2005 20:21 GMT5
Being the proud owner of my first Nikon (a D70) I'm looking into the
possibilities of the telezoomlenses.
Now there's the new:

Nikon D50 vs. Canon Digital Rebel XT15 May 2005 20:06 GMT11
Has anyone done a comparison between the Nikon D50 vs. Canon Digital
Rebel XT?  I know the D50 was just announced but there is already a
preview at dpreview.com.  I read over the specs and from what I see it
looks like a scaled down D70 and doesn't look like it competes with the
Experience Using Nikon EC-9 for Spherical Panoramas15 May 2005 19:54 GMT4
I'd like to start creating some spherical panoramas for capturing the
insides of buildings (french churches).  My thought would be to buy the
fisheye EC-9 lens for my Nikon 8800.
Does anyone have experience doing this with the 8800 or one of its
Is SD memoery as good as compact flash?15 May 2005 19:04 GMT9
I just bought a pentax optio s5i and a 1 gig sd card. My other camera
uses compact flash and it worked good. One time I washed the CF in a
washing machine and dried it by accident and it still worked.
Anything I should worry about when using a sd card?
Monitor calibration help15 May 2005 18:27 GMT20
Last week I received a print from a lab with a yellow cast and with
lifeless colours (not sure if you know what I mean). Since the lab
insisted that they use calibrated tools, I ordered a Spyder2Pro
calibration tool (the one from Pantone).
