Pentax Optio S50 Cut-off Voltage ???26 Apr 2005 08:58 GMT5
Last week I bought a Pentax Optio S50 with 128Mb card. It takes great
pictures, has an excellent menu system and is nice and compact.
However, it is completely unusable due to the ridiculously short life
it gives AA alkaline batteries. So far, I've used two pairs of

Red eye?26 Apr 2005 07:35 GMT26
I know that Red Eye is a problem with most of the small cameras.  Is it
possible to have the people in the picture look at something farther
away from the camera (maybe hold up your finger a foot to the side).
Would that work? Im no expert or anything.  TIA for your input.

What is the location of the BACKUP catalog that Kodak Easy Share uses?
The data in my backup catalog is incorrect.
The regular catalog data is found in two files 'easyshare.me' and
'easyshare.mm' in "o:\program files\Kodak\Kodak easyshare

For those looking at compact cameras!26 Apr 2005 03:06 GMT5
I know this has been a topic of much discussion so I thought I would post my
findings to see if they help anyone.  Keep in mind I'm a armature/novice at
best.  However, I did allot of research over the past several months looking
for the best all around compact camera to be used ...
Dusty lens26 Apr 2005 02:56 GMT3
Just bought a "new" Canon zoom lens (28-135mm) for my EOS300D from
www.digitalfirst.co.uk
The lens was delivered and, on inspection, looked a little dusty. There
was also a fingerprint on it, so someone had clearly handled the unit

Taking 3D stereoptic photos26 Apr 2005 02:29 GMT40
A while back I found some information on how to take 3D photos on the
newsgroups and it got me interested in making my own. Since then I have
been fun making my own stereoptic images and loving it.
Recently I posted a good number on my photo website. These are the
Eureka on Color Management26 Apr 2005 01:52 GMT71
I think I'm "getting it" on color management.
I mean, there is no question about using some device to calibrate the
monitor for color and contrast/brightness. That isn't where all my
questions came up.
Selling photos - is this doable?26 Apr 2005 01:52 GMT2
I don't like any of the options that require me to pay monthly fees or have
sites take a percentage. I was wondering if this is possible: Do any of the
major online print shops provide site developers a backend into their
printing service? So imagine that a user goes to my site, ...
Reminds Me Of Oompa Loompa25 Apr 2005 23:05 GMT6
This is a very colorful picture that I created, I was looking at it
and it reminded me of that movie Willy Wonka and The Chocolate
Factory, http://dwightrapper.spymac.net/salstockbroker3.jpg
Let me know what you think.
Pentax Optio S40 Excessive Battery Usage25 Apr 2005 21:08 GMT6
Just bought the Pentax S40 (which I may return). The fact that
standard AA alkaline batteries could be used (esp. in a pinch) was a
drawing card.
The problem is that the AA alkaline batteries become depleted
