Canon Rebel28 Apr 2005 06:03 GMT4
I'm considering a Canon Digital Rebel body with the Canon 24-70 mm f2.8
lense.  My theory is to put my money into the lens rather than the body.
BTW, I'm moving from a Minolta SLR film camera and a pocket digital camera.
Any comments from the more experienced users?

A friend has a new 350 XT, after burning jpeg's downloaded to PC from
the camera, the images are corrupted, the first band is correct color
and information, then there are bands (horizontal) that have a color
shift and the information of the image is shifted to the right, etc.
negative scanning28 Apr 2005 00:36 GMT5
I have a hewlet packard printer that apparently does not support negative
scanning. I then found lying around at work a mirror setup that uses the
light from the flatbed scanner to light up the negative from behind. The
problem I now have is to convert the negative back to colour ie ...
How to Intentionally Break a Digital Camera While Making it Look Like Normal Wear and Tear?27 Apr 2005 23:02 GMT31
I want my digital camera to stop working without smashing it or dropping it.
I'm hoping to bring in the broken camera for a new model under an extended
warranty plan. Does anyone know how to make it stop working without doing
something to it that makes it look like I broke it on ...
Nikkor 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED AF-S DX Zoom27 Apr 2005 20:04 GMT9
I just read that Nikon has brought out the Nikkor 55-20mm f/4-5.6G ED AF-S
DX zoom lens.  Does anyone in this newsgroup know anything about this lens?
Besides focal length, how does it compare to the Nikkor 70-300mm f/4-5.6D ED
AF Zoom lens?
IS Woes.....27 Apr 2005 19:55 GMT14
My 75-300 IS developed an autofocus fault.
I sent it to Canon for repair and it cost a whopping £120 fixed rate fee.
I've had it back for four days, and now the IS has failed.
The guarantee from Canon only covers the actual fault fixed under their
Slide Scanning Help - Nikon Coolscan 4000 ED27 Apr 2005 19:03 GMT5
I've just gotten a Nikon Super Coolscan 4000 ED and want to start scanning
but haven't figured out what the best settings would be. I've got a lot of
old slides that I'd just like to archive in some format (probably
highest-quality JPEGs) so that we can view them on a computer. ...

Hey all... almost ready for my dslr purchase.  I've looked through the scumbag
NY places, and their attempt at shilling the resellerratings.com.  Anyone know if
what the first reasonable place is to look for buying online cheap?  It would seem
that buydig is somewhere between ...

Vest27 Apr 2005 14:27 GMT38
I am going to get a photographer's vest. Not because I truly need one,
but because I am a geek. Being a geek I have to get a complex one that
does the job. So what should I specifically look for, or is lots of
pockets and Velcro and loops good enough?
Seeking a recommendation27 Apr 2005 14:21 GMT3
Howdy.
Having just finished my taxes (it's Canada - we have until April 30), I
find I can afford a digital camera, so I'm looking for recommendations.
