Changing Sky in photoshop01 Apr 2005 14:11 GMT5
Being relatively new to photoshop etc I was wanting some advice as to
the easiest method of changing a dull Sky using photoshop CS.
I have a number of quite good images that are spoilt only be a lifeless
overcast sky in the background.
Panasonic to manufacture dSLRs01 Apr 2005 13:11 GMT1
http://msnbc.msn.com/id/6821251/
Matsushita and Olympus are working together to produce an
interchangeable lens digital SLR that will comply with the FourThirds
standard in 2006, reports Reuters. The Japanese companies will work

Shallow depth of field on a budget01 Apr 2005 11:51 GMT15
I want to achieve a shallow depth of field for portraits etc.  I
currently own a Canon PowerShot S1 IS, but even using the maximum
aperture with the maximum zoom the background is only slightly
blurred.  It isn't always possible or convenient to move far from my
best price on Nikon SB-800 from reputable dealer?01 Apr 2005 08:57 GMT3
I see the SB-800 at Adorama and B&H for 319.00, but was wondering if it
can be bought for less from a reputable company.
D2H Custom Tone Curves?01 Apr 2005 08:02 GMT3
When I got my Nikon D100, I installed some custom tone curves to solve the
under-exposure common to the D100.  A friend of mine is experiencing the
same under-exposure with his D2H.
Are there custom tone curves available for the D2H, and if so, where?
Saving RAW as TIF01 Apr 2005 07:49 GMT15
I tried saving a RAW image as a tiff so I could play with it in PS5.5. I was
surprised to see the file size jump from 8 meg to 35 meg. I figured raw was
the straight data from the ccd and that tif at least wouldn't compress it,
but why is it so much bigger?
Updated Galleries01 Apr 2005 07:00 GMT2
Hi guys, I have recently updated my galleries (although they are still a
little sparse).
I would appreciate any comments/criticism on any of the images.
Thanks
Tests of IS 75-300 stabiliser01 Apr 2005 05:25 GMT4
I've just been idly taking some comparison shots with a Canon 75-300 IS,
with and without stabiliser switched on.
The results surprised me so much I repeated them several times to be sure.
I used the lens at full telephoto on a 300D
IrfanView icons?01 Apr 2005 04:39 GMT14
My JPGs are associated with IrfanView. Looking at them in a Windows
folder, I'm darned if I know what the different icons mean. In List
mode they're not too noticeable. Here's a magnified screen shot:

Scanner for negatives to digital01 Apr 2005 04:19 GMT4
I am trying to find a solution that will allow me to scan a large
amount of negatives into digital format. I guess I've got about $500
to spend, would like a scanner that can be used to other purposes as
I've got around 1000 photos to transfer and then only spradic use
Nikon Capture Editor - Importing Photos01 Apr 2005 03:23 GMT4
When I drag and drop jpegs into Nikon Capture Editor the photo is
considerably different than the source (as determined by Windows My
Pictures). It is then obviously difficult to edit on an inaccurate
source.
350D lens - my question answered.01 Apr 2005 03:16 GMT7
A few days ago I asked what lens I might buy for my 350D to improve on the
kit lens.
After a few hours of research and lots of reading at

How does the new FZ5 compare to the FZ20?01 Apr 2005 01:24 GMT8
I found that a new Panasonic FZ5 camera is soon to be released (or perhaps
is available from some sources already).  It has a 5 MP sensor, a 12X
optical zoom, and it looks similar to the FZ20 but is $100 cheaper and about
0.3 pounds lighter.  Has anyone had experience with this ...
