| D2H Custom Tone Curves? | 01 Apr 2005 08:02 GMT | 3 |
When I got my Nikon D100, I installed some custom tone curves to solve the under-exposure common to the D100. A friend of mine is experiencing the same under-exposure with his D2H. Are there custom tone curves available for the D2H, and if so, where?

| Saving RAW as TIF | 01 Apr 2005 07:49 GMT | 15 |
I tried saving a RAW image as a tiff so I could play with it in PS5.5. I was surprised to see the file size jump from 8 meg to 35 meg. I figured raw was the straight data from the ccd and that tif at least wouldn't compress it, but why is it so much bigger?

My JPGs are associated with IrfanView. Looking at them in a Windows folder, I'm darned if I know what the different icons mean. In List mode they're not too noticeable. Here's a magnified screen shot: http://www.terrypin.dial.pipex.com/Images/IrfanViewIcons.gif

| Nikon Capture Editor - Importing Photos | 01 Apr 2005 03:23 GMT | 4 |
When I drag and drop jpegs into Nikon Capture Editor the photo is considerably different than the source (as determined by Windows My Pictures). It is then obviously difficult to edit on an inaccurate source.

| How does the new FZ5 compare to the FZ20? | 01 Apr 2005 01:24 GMT | 8 |
I found that a new Panasonic FZ5 camera is soon to be released (or perhaps is available from some sources already). It has a 5 MP sensor, a 12X optical zoom, and it looks similar to the FZ20 but is $100 cheaper and about 0.3 pounds lighter. Has anyone had experience with this ...
