D70 vs D100 vs 870004 Apr 2005 17:19 GMT9
People,
I am getting an offer to trade my Nikon 8700 for a D100.
What I dislike in 8700 - is its slow speed, i.e. time it takes between
pictures before you can shoot again.
Nikon 70-300mm f/4-5.6G Autofocus04 Apr 2005 16:24 GMT4
Could someone who has this lens let me know roughly what its length is when
its fully extended (300 mm)? I have the Sigma 70-300 Macro, and at 300 mm
its a long and heavy lens - I'm looking for something for my D70 in the 300
mm range that doesn't become unwieldy at full focal ...
Little Black Dot On Pix04 Apr 2005 16:02 GMT5
I have a Sigma SD-9 which has a little black dot in the lower right hand
side of 99% of my pictures.  Sometimes it's sharp, sometimes it's subdued.
Could I have burned it?  Is there a tiny nick or foreign object on the
lens/mirror/cmos?
SD Card Q04 Apr 2005 15:24 GMT5
Doesn't look like the first attempt went through, my apologies if this
appears twice.
I recently received a cheap-ish underwater camera for SCUBA diving from
the GF.  It takes SD cards, and in the instructions is says that I can
Nikon D70 rebate partially extended04 Apr 2005 15:21 GMT4
Last month there was a rebate available for the D70 that gave $100 off
the camera body, or $200 off the body with the kit lens.  The rebate
expired on March 31.
Now it looks like there's no rebate for the body, and there's a new
Picasa picture viewer04 Apr 2005 15:11 GMT6
Anybody used Picasa? It seems a relatively advanced picture viewer, and
it's free.

Battery question04 Apr 2005 14:23 GMT9
I have some rechargable Lenmar NiMH batteries (2000 mAh, AA) that do not
seem to hold their charge.  Even with no use whatsoever, they seem to be
dead a day or two after a full recharge.  I get only a few minutes of use
from them when I put them in my camera (Nikon Coolpix 2100) ...

Capturing old cine film04 Apr 2005 09:44 GMT10
In the process of clearing out my Dad's house we have uncovered a treasure
trove of old family memories all on (silent) standard 8mm cine film.
There are a number of local retailers which advertise the ability to
transfer cine to video or DVD but because of the quantity involved I
Anti Nikon 8800 Faq04 Apr 2005 09:41 GMT50
The ANTI-Nikon 8800 FAQ
Reason's not to buy: I'm posting this because various Nikon groups defend a
brand marquee beyond rational thought. Nikon makes some fantastic products. The
8800 is not one of them. Some have suggested that the 8800 is "detuned" so as
Instructions on how to use Capture One PRO RAW Workflow04 Apr 2005 06:05 GMT4
Can anyone point me to any web sites that have Instructions on how to use
Capture One PRO RAW Workflow?
Gray Market Lens?04 Apr 2005 04:18 GMT5
I have found a couple of lenses at adorama.com that I am considering.
The price is good, but they are labeled as gray market.  What is the
risk with gray market and why should I or shouldn't I consider a gray
market lens.
Susan, Chuck has talked about raping black women04 Apr 2005 03:44 GMT59
He doesn't like blacks and he doesn't like women. It's a double whammy
paranoid delusion with him.
dust motes03 Apr 2005 22:34 GMT4
i tried finding dust motes on my 20d following the article in the
'photoshop user' mag and put the camera on a tripod, set my 100mm lens
to 3 foot manually, iso 100 and took some pix of a white wall inside
and a clear blue s. calif. sky outside.  i then opened the raw file in
