Lenses choice for DSLR02 Mar 2005 14:34 GMT15
I am contemplating moving from my Powershot G1 to a DSLR such as DR or D70.
The question is, should I just get the body with the cheapest f/1.8 50mm
lens, given that most the picture I take our family portraits+landscape
outdoor and indoor and move on to a 35-200 Zoom lens later on, ...

We're just back from a snorkeling trip in Belize.  Can anyone point me
to a tutorial on using PhotoShop to correct the color balance in these
pics.  Any pointers?
Any and all help appreciated.
What do the extra contacts on hotshoe do? (v3 related)02 Mar 2005 13:12 GMT17
I was playing with my Sony DSC-V3 when I remembered I had a Vivitar
2800-D in a bag with my old Cannon EF (cannon required content).  I
wonder if this thing works on my new Sony.  The EF (film slr has
contacts + edge).

Hi, I am looking for user comparisons between the following Canon 75-300mm
f/4.0-5.6. USM or 100-300 f/4.5-5.6 USM.
Lenses will be used on a 20D for sport and wildlife. Autofocus is
important - poor eyesight!!
Should I format CF card before use?02 Mar 2005 09:24 GMT15
I just got my first serious digital camera, a Canon 20D.  A fairly
knowledgable friend told me that it's a good idea to format a new
Compact Flash card in the camera before I use it.  True?
Thanks very much for any help.

Canon 20D With Canon 18-85IS Lense Dark Corners (Vignetting)02 Mar 2005 07:00 GMT9
Anyone else heard of problems with dark corners on photos shot at wider end
of the lens, using a Canon 20D and 18-85IS lens?
I initially thought that maybe it was due to the lens hood or maybe even the
UV filter, but even with these removed I still get vingetting.

muti printer use fron one PCc 02 Mar 2005 05:36 GMT3
I would be grateful if some could explain to me with my fairly limited pc
understanding how one PC can control / use more than one printer.
i.e.. my pc has a centron 2.6 processor, 512 ram (soon to be 1012) and at
the moment 40 gb hard drive, using windows XP.
Shutter Lag on digital camera...02 Mar 2005 04:44 GMT47
We have a old canon A20 which must be getting on for three years old -
currently mostly using it for 6x4 pictures so 2MP isn't a massive issue,
although the option to print bigger or crop would be useful, hence more mega
pixels. One thing we have found to be a continual annoyance ...

Epson Stylus Photo R200, Missing USB cable?02 Mar 2005 02:54 GMT12
I just started setting up my Epson Stylus Photo R200 photo printer, and
I got to step 4 when it says: "connect to printer." I need the USB
cable to connect the printer to the computer, but it was not included
in the box. On the list of items in the box that they said to unpack,
EOS 20D inexpensive Lens recommendations02 Mar 2005 01:19 GMT12
I have an old Canon AE1 35mm that has served me well for many years.
After buying an inexpensive Canon A75 a few years back, I'm hooked on
digital.
After much consideration, I have decided to take the plunge and go for
July or August better for Yosemite/Sierras trip?02 Mar 2005 01:06 GMT33
I am starting to make preliminary plans for a possible 3-week trip out
west next summer. We would spend some time in the SF area, then about a
week in Yosemite and an additional week or so doing Mono Lake, the
Bishop area, Bodie and so forth in the eastern high Sierras.
