Canon S1 IS: Focus, Lens or What?09 Mar 2005 21:42 GMT20
I'm pretty new to photography in general and have recently bought a Canon
Powershot S1 IS (at the suggestion of people in this group, I should add).
In general everything works well, although a bit slowly.  I've installed the
new firmware upgrade.
FinePix S1-pro eats batteries .. low voltage cutoff only 2.85 volts .. you, too?09 Mar 2005 21:12 GMT1
A friend's FinePix S1-pro won't work when the non-rechargeable Lithium
battery drops down to 2.85 volts. Any similar experiences? Solutions?
Sony Digital P200 Problem - Dark Shots No Picture09 Mar 2005 20:17 GMT4
I was taking pictures of my dogs on my bed.  I had Auto everything on,
and when I take the picture, the flash goes off, but the picture is
completely black.  I found that if I hold the shoot button down halfway
I would sometimes get it to take a good picture, but 80% of the time I

Took these over the weekend.  First time I've had a lens this long.  I
really love the range.  I only wish I had remembered to reset the ISO.
Rookie mistake I guess.

no swivel LCD?09 Mar 2005 19:20 GMT69
I've had some quality years with my Sony F717, but it's in need of repair
now and I'm thinking of just upgrading to a new camera. I would have
strongly considered the 828, but my one beef with the 717 was the noise, and
I've read that the 828 is even worse.
best low-light macro/zoom versatile digital camera?09 Mar 2005 19:19 GMT8
I'm about to describe the kind of photography I want to do, and I'm hoping
that someone out there can offer some good advice.  First off, I have an old
film-based Nikon AF-2020 SLR, which I haven't used in years, as well as a 3
MP older-generation Nikon P&S digital camera.

I'm kind of new to color management, but I'm running in to some issues
with some files I'm trying to process.
Here's my setup:

prices.

one of these? are they any good?  Should I buy one?  I am just an
5 Megapixel VS. 4 Megapixel camera09 Mar 2005 16:07 GMT13
I own a Sony Cybershot 5.0 Megapixel camera (cybershot DSC-P10). My
buddy owns an Olympia 4.0 Megapixel camera.
We both set our cameras to the highest resolution.
When I take pictures, the size of the resulting jpeg file is
Has anyone edited video files from the current crop of Canaon digicams09 Mar 2005 15:16 GMT1
Am interested in the Canon SD 300 and wanted to ask if anyone may have
captured videos from one of thes cams and edited these videos. I am
very interested in the camera's seemingly decent ability to capture
640x480 30 fps videos. I do video editing on Pinnacle software, but
SD Card will not cut and paste09 Mar 2005 14:43 GMT4
Newbie to SD cards, so I need some help. I am using a Nikon 4600 with
128 meg SD PNY card. I have a card reader connected to me computer and
us it to transfer the images to the hard drive from the SD card in the
reader. My problem is this, it will not cut or delete the images from

Sony Digicam - junky build quality09 Mar 2005 12:37 GMT6
I bought a Sony Cybershot DCS-P150 but took it back to store after a few

some high-wear places, such as the on/off button, exposing a junky white
plastic body beneath. This is totally unacceptable in a camera ...
