"Low-Noise ISO Limit" Data added to http://digitalslrinfo.com/10 Mar 2005 13:06 GMT17
I've added another column to the D-SLR specification table at
http://digitalslrinfo.com/, The new column is "Low-Noise ISO Limit." Noise
levels at higher ISO settings are often a key factor in the decision making
process of which camera to purchase.

coins / pocket watch photography10 Mar 2005 12:05 GMT8
I have found a kit on ebay which is advertised as a "Coin photography kit".
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3879995001&fromMakeTrack=true
My interest is in photographing my pocket watch collection and I wondered if
this kit would be suitable.
Canon 20D Wide angles?10 Mar 2005 10:08 GMT65
It' looks like the only real wide angle option for the 20D is the
EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM.  I've tried to avoid the EF-S lenses but
don't see much choice here.
Any suggestions?  How good it This lens?
Canon S500 and using Sea&Sea YS-40A strobe10 Mar 2005 08:26 GMT1
I'm the proud owner of a Canon S500 digital camera AND the MX-10
underwater camera kit which includes the YS-40A strobe.  I'm planning
on purchasing the WP-DC800 underwater case for my S500 but was hoping
to use my YS-40A strobe instead of having to purchase a new strobe.  Is
D70 with SB600 - underexposed pictures10 Mar 2005 07:37 GMT8
Good evening
I'm hoping someone will be able to assist with a problem I am having with my
D70 and SB600 Speedlight.
I've had the D70 for about 7 months and am getting along with it famously,
Camery Battery got wet10 Mar 2005 06:31 GMT7
I had a spare Canon NB4L battery in a pocket that ended up running through a
washer and dryer.
Does either the water or dryer heat ruin the battery?
It was in a non water proof plastic bag, so it is still damp despite going
Action shots indoors?10 Mar 2005 06:21 GMT27
Any tips for taking action shots indoors?
Tried to take some photos of my niece playing basketball.  Many of the shots
turned out blurry, I think from a combination of the action and my sloppy
handholding being to fast for my lens.  I had the ISO cranked to 1600 and
PCMCIA reader - help!10 Mar 2005 04:16 GMT7
I have this ancient Kodak digital camera from 1996 that takes really
cool pictures mostly due to using a proprietary compression algorithm.
When my old Powerbook was still working I could transfer the photos
from the built in PCMCIA reader.  Now I have an iBook with no reader.
Spot Meter Highlights10 Mar 2005 03:19 GMT12
If I wanted to 'expose right' I should spot meter on the highlights with
a D70, right? It seems I would have to raise the Exposure Compensation
to make those highlights almost blown rather than 18% gray. Is that a
standard amount, like 3 stops? Or will it vary by shot... anything ...
Firmware version in Canon A20?10 Mar 2005 02:52 GMT1
There's a firmware update available from Canon for the A20, but while many
have applied the update successfully, some have scrambled the camera, having
to then send it to Canon.
Before I try this, I'd like to know what firmware rev. I have in the camera.
BEST BUY10 Mar 2005 00:08 GMT5
Never make a purchase with Best Buy...Even with a service plan(PSP) I've
waited 11 months for repair.

problems scanning overexposed 35MM09 Mar 2005 21:47 GMT13
Just had a roll of film processed and scanned at the local drug store.
Apparantly the film was overexposed and their automated system was not
able to get much detail from the washed out negatives.  Also they said
their machine was having trouble framing the shots.
