CF card purchase11 Mar 2005 02:21 GMT3
I'm planning on getting 4 1 gig high speed CF cards soon, but wanted to
ask the group who tends to carry the lowest prices online? Also, is
there a website that searches the online stores for the lowest pricing
on digital products?

Have just bought an Olympus E1 and am amazed to find that Oly want to
charge for the Studio software. Can any experienced E1 users out there
tell me if it's worth it or will alternative programs do the same job

Kodak LS443......10 Mar 2005 22:34 GMT2
The Kodak LS443 camera seems to have an inherent problem with a low
brightness result in all pictures.  I have to either set up the
compensation (+ or -) or pick a higher ISO number.  However I can't
keep those settings in default and have to reset every time I fire up

scanning film but many old photos and documents for cleaning up in
Photoshop and creating printer profiles.

Battery Prices Are Outrageous At Retailers (BP-511A)10 Mar 2005 19:45 GMT21
When I shop around, online, I can find a new BP-511A battery anywhere
from $15 CAN to $25 CAN.  I go to FutureShop and they sell it for $80
CAN.  This is outrageous!  How can they justify that kind of mark up?
Anyway... just wanted to vent.  I feel better now!  :)

Q: Where to buy cameras in Washington DC?10 Mar 2005 18:47 GMT4
I will be visiting Washington DC in two weeks, and since cameras are
so much cheaper in US than in Sweden where I come from (high taxes), I
now plan to replace my old Minolta DiMAGE 7 with something new and better.
So my question is simply: Could someone please recommend stores ...

We recently got this printer and we like it. We are new to digital

printer flash and indicate which cartridge? Will it indicate on the
Q: Next generation sensors?10 Mar 2005 17:34 GMT7
Seems to me that the current gen. sensor size and pixel count (2/3" and
8Mpix respectively) have pretty well maxed out, for the non-dslr cameras.
Anyone have any idea-read something about the next generation?? Bigger size,
more pixels, new tricks??
Noise spectrum10 Mar 2005 15:27 GMT9
Many years ago, when I was a graduate student, I had read that noise
was concentrated in the higher frequencies. Is this true of
contemporary sensors?
Also, is the noise in a pixel (fairly) independent of the noise in
