Someone in our photography group was recently harassed by a security
guard for taking pictures in downtown Charlotte, NC. We found this
interesting flyer:  http://www.krages.com/phoright.htm
Canon 75-300 IS11 Mar 2005 16:53 GMT6
Take what the naysayers post about this lens with a grain of salt.  Most of
them have never owned it, which is obvious from their comments.  This shot
was taken in the Florida Everglades under cloudy conditions and from a
crowded tram ride that was bumping and jerking and ...
Sony P200 Problems - Under/Overexposure - Examples Included11 Mar 2005 16:45 GMT8
I recently got a new Sony P200 7.2 mp.  It takes awesome pictures, but
it takes so many bad pictures also.  It does everything from over/under
exposure to blurry pictures.  I have a feeling it has something to do
with the focusing of the camera.  Are there any settings I can change
White balance by eye?11 Mar 2005 16:31 GMT22
After we got some snow here earlier this week, I realized that my eyes have
slightly different white balance. My left eye tends to see things with a
slightly yellowish cast compared with my right eye, which tends to be a bit
bluer. Have others noticed slight differences like this ...
Macro pictures11 Mar 2005 16:06 GMT21
Could the group please advise on how to get really close up photos of
insects and suchlike so for example a wasps head fills the frame? Can
any of the macro functions on consumer/prosumer compacts do this or is a
special macro lens needed and if so which would be best?

AT thru-hike, recommend a good camera11 Mar 2005 14:57 GMT23
This summer I am going to Alaska and a year from now I am planning an AT
thru-hike.  I have been looking at the Olympus Camedia C-5000 Zoom
Digital Camera but it has a rechargable battery.  The problem with this
camera is that it does not use standard AA batteries so when I get ...
Long firewire cable in UK11 Mar 2005 14:10 GMT3
I'd like to setup a tethered capability in my studio. Can anyone point me at
a UK source for long firewire cables?
If it makes any difference I'll be using a 1D Mk2.
Thanks,

I just bought a used FP3800 and noticed that there's quite a lag between
the time the shutter release is pressed and the image is captured. I

Canon 10D - Contrast, Sharpness and Saturation settings11 Mar 2005 09:37 GMT8
Does anyone know of any web sites that talk about the Canon 10D - Contrast,
Sharpness and Saturation settings?  The 10D manual does not offer much
information on it and at a photo class this weekend the speaker was not very
fond of the settings in any of the cameras.
Camera Choice Advice Please  --  Unusual Usage11 Mar 2005 07:27 GMT11
If you take a look at the URL it will give you an idea of the
requirement and the abuse it will have to take :)  Would this erudite NG
kindly give me some idea of what's suitable for the purpose.  Yeah, I
know, it hasn't been made yet:
Nikon Future SLR to have Movie Mode11 Mar 2005 03:28 GMT70
I read that Nikon hinted at a movie mode on fuure SLR's. Is this technically
possible as it is with P&S digicams? Does anyone have a link to where this
information might be written?
I have the Nikon D70 and as a previous Coolpix owner of several cameras in
