Hacking the CVS "Pure Digital Technology Model 400" disposable camera.13 Mar 2005 17:53 GMT6
I've seen older threads on this but I suppose i'm a bit behind as this
camera doesn't seem to fully match up with old descriptions.
What piqued my interest was that you could delete pictures which
clearly implied it was rewritable.  Piece of crap or not, its a fun
What to look for in a tripod?13 Mar 2005 16:32 GMT9
I want to buy a decent tripod for my Canon 300D.
There seem to be many variants and types.
Are there any particular aspects that I should look for or particular
brands?
Slow?13 Mar 2005 16:08 GMT3
Is it just my news server, or has this group been especially slow for
the last couple of days?

Can anyone help me create and print a A4 Greycard in Photoshop. It would be
handy in my Bag should I need it.
Thanx

Nikon Capture 4 for printing13 Mar 2005 15:00 GMT1
Does Nikon Capture 4 have printing controls like Adobe Elements 3
or is it only an editor ?
microdrive repair success.13 Mar 2005 08:52 GMT2
Yesterday I managed to foolishly be nimble enough to pull my microdrive out
of the reader almost simultaneously with hitting ALT-F4 while an image on
the drive was being displayed.  So even though the image was unchanged, of
course XP decided it had to write to the drive.  Dumb on ...
card reader help13 Mar 2005 07:13 GMT7
I purchased the Nikon cp 5600 today and a 256 card and a card reader.  The
camera and card seem to work fine, but it seems like the card reader might
be broken.  This might seem like a stupid question --shouldn't she know if
the card reader works --  but it's my first real digital ...
Image Stabilized Digital Camera on a boat13 Mar 2005 02:56 GMT22
Does anyone have practical experience using a consumer grade digital
camera with high zoom and Image Stabilization on a sailboat (taking
shots of distant scenery or other boats)?
I am considering purchase of a newer camera with 10x or 12x zoom to
Tape backup software with automatic compression?  13 Mar 2005 01:08 GMT4
By "automatic compression", I mean that the backup software recognizes
filetypes that are already compressed, either by extension (jpg, zip),
or by content, in the case of .tif files, which may or may not be
compressed.  The software should save all these types for last, and
Canon 28-105 vs Canon 28-135 lenses12 Mar 2005 22:57 GMT13
I've been looking at these 2 Canon lenses for use on a 20D, and it appears
people are happy with both. A friend of mine has the 105mm version on his
10D and raves about it. I was looking at getting one, but since it would be
the longest lens I own (at least for quite a while) I was ...
Suggestion for Deep Telephoto Lens for D100?12 Mar 2005 22:46 GMT14
Lucky me chanced upon a little bit of a financial windfall, and would
like to get a vibration-reducing (motion compensating) long-telephoto
lens for my Nikon D100.  I'm thinking about something in the 300mm-800mm
range, preferably with zoom.
What camera is Nikon Coolpix 5400's heir?12 Mar 2005 20:45 GMT5
I've found no model starting at 28mm, why's that?
Is 5400 an obsolete camera?
There's a rebate campaign for this month and looks worthy, what's your
opinion?
