Scanning old 35mm slides16 Mar 2005 21:37 GMT1
These are over 50 years old. They are somewhat faded but otherwise OK.
Can anyone recommend a service to scan and possibly correct these?
good website (photo) hosting for $50 a month?16 Mar 2005 20:37 GMT8
Ideally I'd like 1 GB and very high-speed connection. I just need plain old
FTP access for put/get and users to view my simple html galleries. I can't
host my own physical server any more - I got to be mobile.
Need software for Fuji DS-7 / Apple QuickTake 200 (for Win) ...16 Mar 2005 20:11 GMT1
I have an Apple QuickTake 200 that I (again) need to tie to a Windows
box.  Fuji seems to have removed the link to the download in the past
couple of years.  The QuickTake 200 is actually a Fuji DS-7.  I have
the proper cable.
Memory cards - SD or MultiMediaCards for Canon A510?16 Mar 2005 19:53 GMT1
My new Canon A510 uses "either" SD or MultiMediaCards.
It came with a Canon 16MB MultiMediaCard, and I purchased a
SanDisk 512MB SD card. Both seem to work just fine. To the
user, there seems to be no difference in the media.
Canon A510 question about file type & sise16 Mar 2005 19:39 GMT7
I just purchased a new Canon A510 & really love it.
However, I'm a little confused about file type & size.
Questions:
Is there a way to copy the "RAW" file images from the
Print Resolution of Scanned Image16 Mar 2005 18:57 GMT10
Tell me if I'm right:  If I have a film scanner that scans a 35 mm image
with 3600 dpi, would that limit me to a maximum print size of 12" (length,
using 300 dpi printing as a "photo-real" minimum and maximum print
resolution)?
Any Pics of China Amassing An Army?16 Mar 2005 17:32 GMT28
First some idiot blows up children and nobody's got any pics.
Now they're about to declare war on Taiwan On.  I sure hope somebody gets
pics of this event so we can see what a mushroom cloud looks like.

12VDC Car Charger for Hewlett-PackardHP R707 Digital Camera16 Mar 2005 17:23 GMT12
Please forgive my mis-post if this is not the correct place for this
question.
I am looking to any info leading to finding a 12VDC,
cigarette-lighter-pluggable car charger [or schematic for]
Card error!16 Mar 2005 16:12 GMT5
Olympus XD card formatted on Windows XP produces Card Error when trying to
format in camera.
Works fine as a drive in Windows, Read / Write, Copy / Paste etc, but
nothing possible in camera.
Canon EOS (rebel) 300d xt16 Mar 2005 15:22 GMT7
I'd like to get the new Canon EOS (rebel) 300d xt (via
expresscameras.com so if anyone had a bad experiance with them lt me
know). If anyone knows - does the EOS refle (not degital) lenses fit
the digital model? I'm not sure what kind of lensses are they (EF AF...
Can data be recovered from a CF card, post-format?16 Mar 2005 14:03 GMT10
Dumb question, possibly. But I thought I'd ask before giving up. Last
night, while playing with my new Canon PowerShot A95 camera, I selected
the option to format the storage card - with about 120Mb worth of
wedding photos on it.
How to edit photos on camera...16 Mar 2005 13:50 GMT4
I want to be able to edit a photo that is on my camera and be able to
save it back to the memory card and have the camera be able to display
it. I tried copying the file to my computer, editing it, saving it in
Photoshop as a JPG and putting it back on my camera but my camera says
36mmx36mm digital back and 36mmx24mm DSLR16 Mar 2005 12:52 GMT1
A 36mmx36mm digital back costs about $10K. A Kodak DCS 14/x costs about
$3500, but add the lenses (85/f1.4, 50/f1.4, 28/f1.4 and a 80~200/f2.8
zoom) total would be close to $10K too.
The problem with the 36mmx36mm back is the 1.5x factor, that makes me

White balance, factor or offset?16 Mar 2005 10:23 GMT6
How does the white balancing work? Does the camera derive a fixed offset
for each channel or a factor to multiply each channel with? (I imagine
it ought to be a factor otherwise black and white would become difficult
to do for the cam.)
