These are over 50 years old. They are somewhat faded but otherwise OK. Can anyone recommend a service to scan and possibly correct these?

| good website (photo) hosting for $50 a month? | 16 Mar 2005 20:37 GMT | 8 |
Ideally I'd like 1 GB and very high-speed connection. I just need plain old FTP access for put/get and users to view my simple html galleries. I can't host my own physical server any more - I got to be mobile.

| Need software for Fuji DS-7 / Apple QuickTake 200 (for Win) ... | 16 Mar 2005 20:11 GMT | 1 |
I have an Apple QuickTake 200 that I (again) need to tie to a Windows box. Fuji seems to have removed the link to the download in the past couple of years. The QuickTake 200 is actually a Fuji DS-7. I have the proper cable.

| Memory cards - SD or MultiMediaCards for Canon A510? | 16 Mar 2005 19:53 GMT | 1 |
My new Canon A510 uses "either" SD or MultiMediaCards. It came with a Canon 16MB MultiMediaCard, and I purchased a SanDisk 512MB SD card. Both seem to work just fine. To the user, there seems to be no difference in the media.

| Print Resolution of Scanned Image | 16 Mar 2005 18:57 GMT | 10 |
Tell me if I'm right: If I have a film scanner that scans a 35 mm image with 3600 dpi, would that limit me to a maximum print size of 12" (length, using 300 dpi printing as a "photo-real" minimum and maximum print resolution)?

| Can data be recovered from a CF card, post-format? | 16 Mar 2005 14:03 GMT | 10 |
Dumb question, possibly. But I thought I'd ask before giving up. Last night, while playing with my new Canon PowerShot A95 camera, I selected the option to format the storage card - with about 120Mb worth of wedding photos on it.

| How to edit photos on camera... | 16 Mar 2005 13:50 GMT | 4 |
I want to be able to edit a photo that is on my camera and be able to save it back to the memory card and have the camera be able to display it. I tried copying the file to my computer, editing it, saving it in Photoshop as a JPG and putting it back on my camera but my camera says

| 36mmx36mm digital back and 36mmx24mm DSLR | 16 Mar 2005 12:52 GMT | 1 |
A 36mmx36mm digital back costs about $10K. A Kodak DCS 14/x costs about $3500, but add the lenses (85/f1.4, 50/f1.4, 28/f1.4 and a 80~200/f2.8 zoom) total would be close to $10K too. The problem with the 36mmx36mm back is the 1.5x factor, that makes me

| White balance, factor or offset? | 16 Mar 2005 10:23 GMT | 6 |
How does the white balancing work? Does the camera derive a fixed offset for each channel or a factor to multiply each channel with? (I imagine it ought to be a factor otherwise black and white would become difficult to do for the cam.)
