Hey all,
OK, I ordered the D70, supposed to be here Monday.  I spent 4 days buried in
research torn between the new Rebel and the D70; ended up with D70.  Wish the
new Rebel was already in stores to touch it, but couldn't wait.

Could anyone please help me with a difficult decision I can't seem to make?
I'm stuck between the Nikon CP8800 and the Nikon D70.
Here is my difficulty: The whole CCD cleaning thing is putting me off buying
a dSLR. Every site you look at about cleaning the CCD, you are warned that

What is the best camera for $500 or less ?
I know there are different kinds of cameras, but if you had a $500
American dollars budget for a camera (including all needed accessories)
what would you get?  Let's say you were leaving to spend a year in

I'm a newbi in this technology.  I have the chance to buy a D70 and I
have an SB25 flash.. The manual says I can use it but not ttl mode.
Do I set the flash in "A" mode ?  what would I set the camera on ??
Eventually I would be doing some wedding photos (just as a a friend) and

any one have any thing on digital infra red photography.

I'm looking for a simple file search utility that will find TIF images
at or above a specific resolution.  Can anyone recommend something?

I am asking on behalf of our group, a small binary
forum that dabbles in fine needlework and crafts of the

Could anyone tell me if they would recommend this rather useful looking
lens. I read a useful looking article in a photo mag, written by a press
photographer, who said he had worn it out because it was so useful, i
don't know the F/ratio or if it was IS.

My little jewel of a Sony W1 only came with a 32 Mb stick.
Bought a 512 as a standard.
I was thinking of shooting some copies of City maps of
Paris and London in segments and using the 32mb stick.

My old camera was a Fuji A201 and it had a great Auto Save function that
helped my aged brain immensely.
I just bought a S5100 and it looks like they no longer have that feature.
Does anyone know anything about that.  I am 83 years old and I hate having
