any plans for "cooled camera detectors?"20 Mar 2005 04:10 GMT20
Astrophotgraphers typically use "cooled detectors" to take long exposures
with CCD's, because the dark-current of the detector is massively reduced
along with the temperature of the detector.  One can themo-electrically cool
a CCD, but I believe this requires a lot of current, ...
20D Extender eyepiece20 Mar 2005 02:54 GMT2
According to its description, the EP-EX15 eyepiece reduces
viewfinder magnification by 30%. What does that really mean? That you see
30% less thru the viewfinder of what the camera sees or does it affect the
picture too?
mega pix equiv of common films question20 Mar 2005 02:00 GMT20
Is there list of what the effective megapixels of various types of
35mm film equate to assuming one has the optic's to do the film
justice?
I'd like to check out how my film slr's resolves vs my digicams and
doc size larger on 1D than 300D ?20 Mar 2005 01:49 GMT2
A 4MP file from a 1D has a bigger document size than a 6MMP 300D file?
I have always printed on my Epson 2200 13x19 from my 1D JPEG large with no
size problems, I can even crop big-time and have plenty of image left for
the 13x19 page with 1 inch borders. But I'm finding the ...
E-300 vignetting?20 Mar 2005 01:18 GMT155
Hi, I'm on the point of buying an E-300 kit now that they've reached a
sensible price in the UK (?630 for the E-300 and the 14 -45 & 40 -150
lenses)
I'm a bit concerned about some references to vignetting in a couple of
images by Michael Macor - newspaper photog of year20 Mar 2005 00:33 GMT5
In between our rabid bouts of gear-mania, it's nice
to look at some GREAT images.

AutoStitch20 Mar 2005 00:33 GMT14
I realize that you get what you pay for, and the price of AutoStitch (free)
was certainly right. I did a 180 degree pan of my back yard in 7 shots. Each
shot individually was sharp, the stitching process was flawless, but the
resulting picture was somewhat fuzzy. Does anyone know of ...

Storage of discharged Lithium Ion  batteries ?19 Mar 2005 21:39 GMT11
This is a recurrent doubt I always go through.
I alternate the use of a few sets of batteries.
A discharged set, not to be used in the near future, should be stored
charged ? If yes, should I "complete" the charge when the

Can we post this here? Anyways, here's my referral. Please help me with
this. You need 10 refers and I would buy one with money (not this
site), except being 15 doesn't offer a lot of jobs.

Magnification 19 Mar 2005 17:28 GMT8
I was looking at this magpie on the lawn at 12X digital zoom on a
38-114mm lens so that means that the effective focal length should have
been around 450mm or 9x magnification. However when I looked through a
pair of 10x50 binoculars, the bird looked much bigger with lots of
