my friend claims a faulty CRT shocked him in the nads21 Mar 2005 13:41 GMT33
This is 100% a true story told to me directly. My friend said he
picked up a 17" monitor (generic model) and could feel a fairly strong
electric shock down in his midsection. The monitor was completely
sealed at the time but powered on. I have heard similar stories about
Please help with digital camera selection21 Mar 2005 12:14 GMT10
I'm looking to get my first digital camera. I have a few 'needs', so I
guess I'll start with those.
Need 1: I NEED the camera to be able to take great macro shots. I
collect coins, and want to be able to set the camera up on a copy stand
Finepix S5000 - Stripped tripod thread - Please help21 Mar 2005 10:58 GMT13
I managed to strip the thread for mounting my FinePix S5000 on a tripod. Any
advice about what to do?
Fuji say they can repair it but will not give me a quote until they see the
camera.

Accoona, the new search engine has a special feature which I would like
to share with you. It is called 'QuickProfile' and is easy to use:

An unscientific lens test - any expert feedback?21 Mar 2005 06:03 GMT5
I just spent my Sunday afternoon doing some rather unscientific testing of
my new Canon 17-40mm lens. Despite having a digital P&S for several years
(and using the manual controls quite a bit) I found myself like a fish out
of water with a new DSLR. Suddenly I had a camera where ...
canon lenses follow up21 Mar 2005 05:08 GMT11
Two days ago i asked the question about if the 70-200mm f/4 L lens is
worth its money. It seems everyone agrees it would be the best choice
for that range. Most of you were telling me that my choice for 18-125mm
Sigma is not so good. I am planning on getting a Canon 20D and I am

I have noted I can purchase the Canon  420 ez flashes for fairly cheap
prices.  I was considering using a "wired" set up for some still life
photography.  Can anyone advise as to whether I could substitute 420 ex

Lexar vs. Sandisk21 Mar 2005 03:29 GMT3
What's the general thought on Lexar media?  I'm looking for a new memory
stick pro, and I'm pretty faithful to Sandisk,  having positive experiences
with their media.  Can anyone comment?  I can get a 256MB MS Pro for pretty
cheap...
20D?21 Mar 2005 02:51 GMT3
Maybe I will be glad that I have waited to test the 350xl. From reading from
some of the first reports is that the first run of the 350XL is much better
out of the gate than the 20D ever was. The pictures seem to be sharper, no
banding issues, no lockups, and the built in flash ...

Ixus 30 or Coolpix 520021 Mar 2005 02:00 GMT1
I'm after a small camera that does good video.  I was going to go for the
IXUS 30 (640x480 at 30 fps) but noticed that Pixmania UK didn't show it in
their Top 10. They have the Coolpix 5200 as no. 1 which does the same video
spec. but is a 5 M pxl camera for the price of the 3 M ...
