| Monitors, CRT of flat screen? | 22 Mar 2005 01:23 GMT | 12 |
I went to the Apple shop and saw their new display monitors, 23inches and even 30 inches. Conventional wisdom, at least so far, has been that for digital photo work CRT are better, even much better. But would this apply also to the new Mac displays just mentioned? For one thing, ...

Bokeh is the quality of the blur. Harsh rings around blur blobs indicate bad bokeh. It should be soft. I welcome examples of good bokeh. <http://www.edgehill.net/1/?SC=go.php&DIR=California/Bay-Area/Livermore/2005-01-3 0-mines-road/full-set&PG=2&PIC=10> That's bad bokeh (tsk tsk ...

I am toying with the idea of getting a 400 or 500mm ultra telephoto but cannot afford the Nikon prices. I have a D70 with a 70-200 f2.8 which is a brilliant lens but I want more reach for wildlife and sports shots. I've been looking at the sigma lenses but have no knowledge of ...

| Remembering New England Summer | 21 Mar 2005 22:15 GMT | 1 |
Hot day when this was shot! The barely visible land on the horizon is the Eastern end of Long Island N.Y. The brownish sky is air polution (common over long Island and Long Island Sound in Summer).

| Evening city skyline | 21 Mar 2005 21:20 GMT | 11 |
I'm considering taking photos of city skylines in the evening/nightime. To the eye, such a scene is basically dark, with the buildings appearing pretty much black against a greyish/blue sky. Those buildings have yellowish white lights in the windows. You might get a road with car ...

I'm about ready to make a purchase of a Canon 10D camera and was wondering about the purchase of an extended warranty that is being offered from the place that I may purchase from. They are charging $450 for a 2 year warranty, and they basically state that they'd cover just about ...
