| 8x10 digital back vs. drum scan | 23 Mar 2005 02:14 GMT | 9 |
Thank you all who responded to my post. I did not know there was a 5x5-inch physical limit to sensors and that there was such a high failure rate during manufacture. My dilemma is this. I use 8x10 ASA50 Fujichrome to make 48x72-inch

| Coolscan V slide scanner - advice | 23 Mar 2005 02:11 GMT | 2 |
I have access to a Coolscan V scanner and plan to scan my slides (800 or so) and colour negative film (strips of 6, usually) to archive them. Probably will not print many at this time. Does anyone have experience with this scanner, or similar - could you

| 2D Image Quality of ATI Radeon 9700 Pro? | 23 Mar 2005 00:49 GMT | 4 |
I'm thinking of upgrading my video card (an ancient GeForce 1 DDR) to a Radeon 9700 Pro. If anyone out there is running one of these cards with a CRT, at resolutions of 1280x1024 or 1600x1200, how do you like the 2D image quality? Any problems?

| Canon S1 IS vs Panasonic FZ20 | 23 Mar 2005 00:29 GMT | 54 |
Forget for now that the Canon is unfortunately a 4MP and the Panasonic is a 5MP. Which camera is a superior camera in any respect and why? If Canon were to update the S1 to 5MP and make now other changes, which would be better?

| Kodak 7330 or HP R607? | 22 Mar 2005 23:51 GMT | 2 |
This is gonna be my first digital camera. My friend has the Kodak 7330 which she likes alot. It's a 3.1 camera and will probably do what I want. However, the movie format is MOV which I don't care for. I also looked at the HP R607. It's a 4.1 and plays MPEG format. I like the

My Canon Digital Rebelwith 18-55 kit lens is giving me problems. More particularly, the auto focus function hardly ever works. When I semi-press the shutter release, the green AF light flashes to show it can¹t focus. The camera makes a short sound as if the lens is going to

| Is afs-dx 18-70 a lens definitely a Nikon lens? | 22 Mar 2005 22:58 GMT | 5 |
I'm on the cusp of buying a D70 with lens. One site specifically states it's a Nikon (Nikkor) lens, the other site I'm considering says "Nikon D70 Digital SLR with AF-S DX 18-70 Lens..." -- am I being paranoid, or is there a chance the lens is not a Nikon lens?
