Boo ofoto for requiring password to share photos24 Mar 2005 16:33 GMT4
Unless I'm missing something, ofoto has resumed the noxious practice of
requiring a signin and password to share photos.  Last year, I shared
several albums using ofoto, by just emailing around the link to the
album.  People could click the link and go directly to my album.
New to digital cameras: would 5.1 megapixels be enough for my needs?24 Mar 2005 15:50 GMT13
I read quite a few articles online about digital cameras, pixels, how
this whole concept is different from film cameras and such. But most of
these articles compare professional, high-quality film camera shot by a

10 X and noise suppression24 Mar 2005 15:22 GMT7
A friend is using his old Oly 2100 for researching the optics of 300
year old telescopes.  The required exposures are long enough to cause
quite a bit of noise in his images.  He has rigged an adapter of his own
design to give him a reasonable image size on the 2100 and thinks he ...
Photographing 16mm film frames24 Mar 2005 15:11 GMT2
I need help determining the proper macro lens and extension tube length to
use to capture a 16 mm film frame to a digital camera CCD. I have determined
that a 16 mm film frame is 10 mm wide and 7.5 mm high. I have not decided on
which digital camera to buy so I do not know the ...

HP Photosmart C5100A question.24 Mar 2005 12:39 GMT1
Folks,
Picked up one of these original `photoscanners' at a second-hand
store. Found a third party (e-mail me) driver/software package for
it, and successfully scanned b/w & color negs and slides.
Adding comments to JPEGs?24 Mar 2005 12:21 GMT11
I want to add comments to photos (JPG format) for future reference, in
a methodical fashion, but there seem to be several places for them.
Could someone summarise the options and recommend the most useful
please?

I have been looking for some freeware that will let me create a

Chronic Masturbators Should Be Drafted And Sent To Iraq24 Mar 2005 06:50 GMT4
Over the past several years we have been hearing often in the news
media about shortage of army recruits. This has been leading many
people to believe that it is necessary to reinstitute the draft. I
have a suggestion for solving this problem that, I believe, would be

Canon or Nikon or wait?24 Mar 2005 06:29 GMT21
I would like to get a DSLR.  I don't have any glass that would work with
either Canon or Nikon so I am not committed to either brand.  For my
purposes, a D70, 350XT Rebel or a Canon 20D would take equally good photos.
Sure, the 8mp sounds nice, but it is just larger files in my ...

then stays on red and

Nikon NEF/RAW Conversion24 Mar 2005 04:14 GMT10
I'm going to buy a Nikon D70 in the next few weeks. I have Photoshop 7 on my
PC. How do I convert the Nikon 'RAW' files so that I can edit them in
Photoshop. Is the supplied Nikon software able to do this or do I need a
third party item?
