Canon S1 - recovery of deleted movi25 Mar 2005 01:49 GMT11
I got a Canon S1 - after asking a few questions here a while back and with a
few reservations am delighted with it.  I shot a bit of video yesterday and
deleted it from the camera after uploading it - before confirming that
uploading had taken place.
What color is the Canon A85?25 Mar 2005 01:45 GMT3
Every picture I've seen of the camera is metallic with dark grey.  This week
my store has it on sale but it's metallic with black.  What gives?
580ex buggy algorithm25 Mar 2005 01:16 GMT2
Canon has embedded a buggy algorithm in the 580ex feature to account for
the DSLR crop factor. The result is incomplete illumination of the frame
at wide angles.
The bug is in the relative order that the flash applies the crop

As part of my job, I am every week in some National Park- Yellowstone, Bryce

Flash for RebelXT D25 Mar 2005 01:03 GMT2
I have a Sunpack 433AF for Canon flash that I have been using for some
years with a Rebel XS film camera.  I recently bought a Rebel XT D
digital (which, incidentally, I like very much).  The XT does not
recognize that the flash is attached when I insert it into the hot
help, black dogs face indistinguishable25 Mar 2005 01:01 GMT22
I am new to digital photography/photography.  I recently got a Kodak DX6490.
I like it and have gotten what I consider to be some good pictures.  But am
having trouble with one of my favorite subjects, my mostly black German
Shepard.  It seems no matter which way we face in the sun ...

Paint (on XP/Home) cannot read jpg images from Canon PhotoStudio25 Mar 2005 00:00 GMT5
I start with an image that paint can read (actually from a Nikon). I
process it with the Canon software and save as jpg. I try to open it
with Paint and it says the format is not supported. Paint has no
problem opening the original image.

D-70 continuous frame transfer24 Mar 2005 23:17 GMT14
Can the D-70 when connected to a computer provide a continuous frame
transfer rate of 1 to 3 frames per second? If not, do you know what the
maximum continuous frame transfer rate is?
Thanks,     Don
Fuji FinePix E51024 Mar 2005 22:29 GMT6
I just bought a Fuji FinePix E510 to replace my broken Olympus D-Series
digital camera.
I find that the Fuji FinePix is very sensative to jitter or motion.  So
much so that I am having a hard time taking usable pictures.
Leica accessory macro lens for digicams?24 Mar 2005 22:22 GMT1
I saw this Leica macro lens for auction on e-Bay. The description says it's

Does Leica make add-on macro lenses for other brands? Or is the fact that it
spam from ACD Systems (ACDSee)24 Mar 2005 20:55 GMT3
I just received spam from ACD Systems - the ACDSee "newsletter".  Under
normal circumstances I'd think perhaps I'd subscribed at some point
when downloading a trial version, but I received *2* copies of the
spam, and the imbedded email addresses were for invalid (never existed,
Digital F Stop question24 Mar 2005 20:55 GMT15
I'm been looking at the Nikon D70 and have been surprised at the offered
standard lens, Zoom-Nikkor 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5.
I'm aware of the multiplication factor one must to use to convert the mm to
35 mm camera equivalent because of the sensor size, but is there also some
