I looked on eBay for a specific camera (Dimage A200). It seems that about 40% of those for sale are reconditioned. Where do all these reconditioned cameras come from. Are they (1) Returns where the consumer wasn't happy with the product (and will I be?)

Mine won't re installed software but no luck. The "noise" of a connecting usb is heard both when the camera is turned on and off whilst connected, but the software just won't find the camera. Tried the "install new hardware", does not want to play either.

I got one of these for Xmas. It's tough on batteries so I got rechargeable. Problem is that if I take a few snaps of same scene in quick succession with it set at Auto then each one is different.

The search tools at Dpreview.com or Steves-Digicams or Imaging-Resource aren't helping me find an appropriate camera. I want something to replace a film P&S camera loaded with 800 speed film that can be used in dark canyons to record sports action (kayaking).
