I saw an amazing photograph of a leaf skeleton in a photography magazine this month (in the UK). The photographer explained how he put a leaf in a solution of salt and baking soda and after a couple of months all is left is the skeleton of the leaf.

| LCD | 05 Feb 2005 18:32 GMT | 3 |
I am thinking of replacing my Sony Multiscan 500PS with Sony PremierePro SDM-P234/B. I have read some reports that it has slight issues with color continuity, color noise and also common LCD issues like not deep enough black, etc. Would I be happy with such a move?

| Burning DVDs | 05 Feb 2005 17:04 GMT | 12 |
Is there a difference in archival quality between DVDs? I want to make sure that when I burn my images for storage/backup that I don't run into long-term problems with quality or lost data. Are the more expensive disks better? One manufacturer over the others?

| Curves: white eyedropper corrects overall contrast - sometimes! | 05 Feb 2005 16:26 GMT | 5 |
I am working hard to familiarise myself with Curves in Photoshop! I have found that with some photos, clicking the light eyedropper on a white object in the photo makes the whole picture 'spring to life' with a nicely brightened picture and overall well adjusted contrast. I wish

| camera recomendation | 05 Feb 2005 09:16 GMT | 12 |
I'm looking for a camera that I can connect to a PC and capture images by software without needing to use the internal memory. Almost like web cam, but I have only seen web cams with 640x480 resolution, giving me an effective 0.3MP resolution. I don't need hi-res camera, but ...

| Nikon D70 vs. Canon 20D | 05 Feb 2005 06:17 GMT | 22 |
<begin rant> Is it just me, or do the users of these two cameras (you will note that I use the D70) lately seem to be digital photography's equivalent of AOL? <end rant>
