what is not a good idea06 Feb 2005 21:43 GMT2
It ain't a good idea to click on links posted by someone you don't trust
(somewhat!), esp. tinyurl ones.
If you do click on such, please refrain from lambasting the weak coward
who posts such. He needs attention badly, and if he gets it here, he
Guys and Gals06 Feb 2005 21:10 GMT11
I thought there were quite a few female photo enthusiasts and yet most
of the participants in all of the photo and printer newsgroups are
guys.  Anyone know why?
Also, it seems the most active participants are the Brits and yet the
Delete portion of DVD?06 Feb 2005 20:50 GMT15
Is there a way to delete portions of an already burned DVD?
If not, what do I need to do ? I saw only how DVD shrink looked at the whole
movie and then recorded it without giving a change to edit and make cuts.
I am using rewritable DVD's.
Reviews of digital cameras06 Feb 2005 20:37 GMT8
does anyone know some good websites with reviews of digital cameras? I'm
looking at getting something simple and cheap, like an "Olympus Camedia
C-770 Ultra Zoom" or a "Konica Minolta Dimage Z3", and would like to read
opinions and comparisons.
Digital Cameras: Does Pixel Size Matter?06 Feb 2005 20:35 GMT12
I've quantified digital camera sensor performance, comparing
photon-noise-limited DSLRs and point and shoot cameras.
Good cameras are now photon noise limited and this sets
basic properties that depend on pixel size and how many photons
Viewing MP4 Files Under Windows06 Feb 2005 20:13 GMT4
I just purchased a new Sony DSC-M1 and have downloaded some sample
videos from the camera.  Since they are MP4 files what programs are
recommended for viewing/editing those videos?
Thanks in advance.
This newsgroup bogs down my computer06 Feb 2005 20:01 GMT16
It seems that there are too many messages sitting in this group - it takes
my computer a long time to load them.  I have other newsgroups, and
everything's fine with them.  I do notice that it says (117017) next to this
newsgroup name - is that number of active messages?  My ...

Any Nikon Coolpix 990s still going strong?06 Feb 2005 17:04 GMT20
This June, mine will be 5 years old.  That's right, FIVE years old!
No battery door issues (I keep a tripod shoe permanently attached to
the bottom in the hopes that it will keep the door closed if the
springs should happen to break).
Canon PowerShot A85 Shutter button06 Feb 2005 17:00 GMT2
I just got the above mentioned camera and I love it!! My only
frustration is with the shutter button. It has this two stage function
that is driving me nuts. I have missed several shots because of it. Is
there a setting to bypass this so when I push the button it just takes
video modes with stereo sound?  Any?06 Feb 2005 15:28 GMT7
Is there any camera out there with
a video mode that records in stereo?
I checked the Kodak cameras - all seem to be mono.
