| Extinction of the Photo Printer? | 07 Feb 2005 20:20 GMT | 8 |
Will the photo printer become extinct? I've already covered my walls with prints and have no more space to hang them. I am now covering my walls with electronic displays like my new HDTV screen. Soon we may have electronic digital paper to display our photos on.

| Sensor Dust Removal | 07 Feb 2005 19:31 GMT | 11 |
I finally got enough courage and had a try at removing dust from my 20D sensor using the rocket blower method with my wife holding the vacuum cleaner hose near the camera throat. This was successful in the sense that it was no worse than before, better in

| Phase One - 'Crap'ture One 3.6 Lays A Bomb | 07 Feb 2005 19:06 GMT | 3 |
Last month, prior to its release, I predicted that the 3.6 Windows release of Capture One (which I now appropriately call 'Crap'ture One) would be a "bug-ridden, dog-of-a-program". Well, I think the folks at Phase One managed to even trail my low expectations with a release that is ...

I have an older Olmpus camera with a serial connection. I hate the Camedia software that came with it. Does anybody know if AcDsee (or any other software) will let me transfer images from the camera to my system? Should I use a USB --> serial adapter (if there is such a

| Lens front element diameter | 07 Feb 2005 17:07 GMT | 15 |
Why do different lenses have differing front element diameter? Is a lens with a bigger front element inherently superior than one with a smaller front element? Does a 77mm capture more light than a 58mm? - Siddhartha

| Shutter speed question with the 10D | 07 Feb 2005 16:24 GMT | 13 |
I'm using the 10D and I have a question regarding shutter speed. I understand a rule of thumb for handholding is to set the shutter speed no lower than the focal length of the lens. However the 10D has that 1.6 "multiplier".

| Canon 300d -- sensible renaming of images | 07 Feb 2005 16:15 GMT | 5 |
My boss is having trouble keeping track of his images -- he uses the camera/scanner wizard to download from a card reader, but the filenames end up out of order. I seem to remember a utility which I bought years ago to download from my Olympus, with a lot of naming options, ...

| ? about software to make time-lapse movies | 07 Feb 2005 15:48 GMT | 5 |
I'm looking for a new camera and I want one that can take time-lapse movies. Then it dawned on me. The photographs are digital, maybe someone has written software to combine hundreds of JPG(?) stills into a movie. Then I could widen my camera shopping. If so, any recommendations.

| Which Flash for a 602z? | 07 Feb 2005 13:44 GMT | 1 |
I currently own (and love!) a venerable old Fuji S602z digital camera. The one main failing of the camera is the built-in flash unit sucks. This is much the same problem on most cameras with built-in flash, I would imagine.

| Digital Camera Pricing | 07 Feb 2005 10:23 GMT | 76 |
Digital camera pricing in general is following the lead of the computer manufacturers. It is not so much that camera prices are going way down rapidly but you are getting more for your money. Compared to the very early days there were huge price drops until so called affordable ...
