| UV Filter: % light reflection? | 12 Feb 2005 17:17 GMT | 28 |
I have a new Nikon D70 with the kit lens (18-70 f/3.5-4.5). Upon buying the camera I immediately slapped a UV filter on the front of the lens to protect it. However, I have recently learned about the reflection properties of non-coated glass, and that my Promaster UV

| Dust on sensor, Sensor Brush = hogwash solution? | 12 Feb 2005 16:52 GMT | 29 |
I see the most recommended treatment /du jour/ for the vexing "dust specks on sensor" with digital SLRs is a brush that is charged up by spraying it with compressed air. Problem is, the company selling these brushes is extorting money from people, IMO, by charging around $100 for ...

| coolpix 995 memory back to front | 12 Feb 2005 15:58 GMT | 15 |

| D2H vs D70 | 12 Feb 2005 15:30 GMT | 20 |
The D2H is on blowout at $1995 new from various places. At that price it's almost an alternative to the D70. It's a lot bigger and heavier, but faster and more rugged. Is this something to seriously think about? Does the extra 2

| Photos Can't Escape It, Either | 12 Feb 2005 14:46 GMT | 83 |
Photos Can't Escape It, Either A while back here on BFB, I pointed out that even a photo of a fat person on a stock photo site could garner negative comments. I posted a comment calling the other people on the carpet, and there's been nothing there

| What is everyone's favorite online print service? | 12 Feb 2005 14:21 GMT | 1 |
Been a while since I uploaded photos to be printed. Previously I used photoaccess and shutterfly with pretty good results. Just wondering if there are certain services that are particularly good with large digital prints such as 16" X 20".

I would like to know if there is some digital camera which would look like some old (classic) small camera. For example which would not have LCD display. Something I could play with like with manual camera only that it has digital sensor

| 300D Night shots! | 12 Feb 2005 12:51 GMT | 13 |
Right, I need to take two photos: 1) Photo of some stars, this is going to be used as a background so the more detail it picks up the better! 2) A cloudy night. As you know, the clouds are a weird colour of grey

| Zoom camera with large bright viewfinder options? | 12 Feb 2005 03:15 GMT | 2 |
I've been shopping the closeout deals for a 10 X optical zoom camera. So far The Minolta Z1 and the Olympus C 740 seem to meet my zoom lens requirements. I will be using the camera primarily for snapshots but plan on using the high zoom factor to help compose the shots. I have

| Fuji FinePix S3100 | 12 Feb 2005 00:48 GMT | 1 |
I just bought one to replace a FinePix 3800 that went to a premature grave. (I wasn't happy with the service from the 3800, but I had just invested in a 256meg xD card, so couldn't justify switching formats.) The 3100 is almost identical to the 3800, with one critical
