Help My Buy: Features More Important than Megapixels16 Feb 2005 08:10 GMT10
Hi. I want to buy a digital camera for Web work. I have a 35MM camera
for print work, so I don't need to print high-quality photos. I think
this means I don't need to pay for more than 2 megapixels. What about
resolution, memory, etc.?
The True Photographer16 Feb 2005 04:49 GMT6
Watching the ARCA race at Daytona today and a car slid into a group of
photographers just behind pit road. Pit road speed is about 55mphat Daytona.
One of the photographers that was struck squarely by the car, lifted head
over heals over the hood, and land on the corner of ...
Error 99: How I Fixed the Digital Rebel16 Feb 2005 04:36 GMT3
Well, great relief! I finally got my EOS300D back today, and it's
fixed--FREE! By the local guy. Here is the story, and I'm saying this all
not just to give a "postive vent" (share my joy) but also to help those in
case they get this problem.

Considering Coolpix 500016 Feb 2005 02:59 GMT3
Someone on the Internet at a reputable site is selling the Coolpix 5000 for
$190 shipped, including 2 batteries, 2 chargers, 128 Lexar 12x CF card, AC
adapter, and all box contents except "beginner's" card. I am a former 5400
user, sold it last November to get the Digital Rebel.
How to build Powershot A85 Power supply?16 Feb 2005 02:38 GMT24

would need to be 6 volt but what amperage?
What is the pin configuration, center + or -?

Frame Numbers vs. JPEG Numbers With CF Cards 16 Feb 2005 01:43 GMT3
I have a new Canon Digital Elph S500, which uses CF cards. In using my
512 MB card, I have deleted many photos that were not good enough. I
noticed that deleting a frame reduces the frame numbers by one, but does
not reduce the JPEG number. For example, my CF card now has 52 frames,

Digitizing 35 mm Slides15 Feb 2005 21:12 GMT25
I am about to start the digitization of our family slides using a Nikon
LS-5000. Some of these slides were taken with my old Argus C-3 and later
with my Pentax. What have you found to be the optimum file size for a
digitized slide and what is the best storage format? I was ...

I want to take pictures of my kids playing soccer and volleyball. They play
soccer during the day and also in the evening where stadium lights are used.
Volleyball is indoors. I don't have a good grasp on the lighting issues yet
and need to understand the "procedure". Should I in ...
Olympus D-600L Zoom Switch15 Feb 2005 20:10 GMT1
I handed my camera to a friend to take a picture.  When he handed it
back to me, the zoom switch was not working.  It seems to be moving
freely, not engaging whatever mechanism it is that causes the zoom to
move.

Has anyone use the following digital calibration software: Profile Prism
from DDISoftware? If so how do you like it? How does it compare with
packages that are more expensive and have a monitor measuring device?
