There is now a rumour that Canon in an attempt to lure non-slr users to the under $800usa dSLR camp, they will make the new stripped down 6.3 MP Rebel XT (350D) in a series of colors like the SD20 now comes in. Crap walking around with a ruby red slr is lame.

I am looking for recommendations on a slide scanner. Someone recommend the Minolta Dual Scan IV, but the reviews on the scanner were poor. Can anyone recommend a good make and model scanner for a hobbyist to scan slides?

I have an Olympus C-5050. As I zoom toward the widest angle, the viewfinder becomes progressivley misaligned with the final image. At full wide angle, if an object is centered in the viewfinder, it is 1/3 off the top of the taken image.

Ever since I installed powerquest's drive image I've been unable to transfer pictures from my kodak easyshare camera direct to my pc. I understand this is a common problem, but does anyone know if there's a way to fix it? Thanks in advance.

I just bought Kodak CX7430. Is it normal that there is a continuous background "whistle" noise in movies? The noise level is less than any normal sound but anyway disturbing. Here's a 4-second sample (500 K):
