| 500W Flourescent photo lamps ???? | 18 Feb 2005 09:12 GMT | 31 |
I have had an interest in using "hot" lights in place of flash for indoor work and realize that 500W lights can be dangerously hot. Are there any 500W equivalents in flourescents that wil probably last longer and be cooler? I don't think I really need to have 5000K lights since I'm ...

| what's diff between Nikon Coolpix 5000 and 5400? | 18 Feb 2005 05:21 GMT | 5 |
Can someone who knows off the top of their head tell me the difference between Nikon Coolpix 5000 and the later 5400? I've been lusting after the 5400 (can get new with 512MB FC for ~$350), but I might be able to get a used 5000 for quite a bit less. What improvements did Nikon ...

| Viewing jpg in digicam when resized with Photoshop doesn't work | 18 Feb 2005 02:56 GMT | 7 |
I tried this with 3 digital cameras, a pentax, a sony and a sanyo. I always had the same problem. I took a photo taken by the camera, resized it in photoshop, saved it to the memory card under the same name. After this, it was not able anymore to view the picture in the

| Full Product 360s | 18 Feb 2005 02:20 GMT | 4 |
We have done 360s of rooms before and are able to do them well. We are interested in doing some 360s of products. I am wondering if this would work the same way? Does anyone have any place I can get information on this process? I have done searches but have turned up nothing.

| Do I really need monitor calibration if.... | 18 Feb 2005 02:11 GMT | 17 |
I'm not too critical about color but I'd like my prints to be close to what the monitor displays. The problem is, only one of my three printers is out of whack so I suspect monitor calibration is not going to help. Using a Dell laptop the colors and brightness on my screen are ...

| Lightweight Telephoto / Canon 20D combo? | 18 Feb 2005 02:09 GMT | 22 |
My current "reach out there" gear consists of an older Canon Elan IIe and a 75-300mm IS (f/4-5.6), which works out to a fairly reasonable system to dayhike with (<10 miles) in a bag with a WA lens. I'm thinking of doing an Africa safari and to that end, investing in a

| Digitizing Tablets | 18 Feb 2005 00:47 GMT | 16 |
High-end digitizing pen tablets, such as the Wacom, seem to start at about $200 for a small 4 x 5 tablet and go up in price. Cyberguys.com lists this type of tablet (USB connected) for $69.95 -- quite a price difference. Has anybody tried the low priced spread? How is it? Are

| PSP 9 and Canon G6 RAW? | 18 Feb 2005 00:47 GMT | 4 |
It appears that PSP 9 doesn't support the Canon RAW format produced by the G6. I am assuming that Jasc will provide an upgrade to correct this, since PSP 9 does support the G5. Any way around this in the meantime? Is the G5 RAW and G6 RAW that different?

| Any reliablity issues with a dsc-v1 | 17 Feb 2005 21:37 GMT | 5 |
Guy at work is offering me a Sony DSC-V1 to replace my Sony P-32 that has a dead flash unit. The guy takes care of his stuff, has way more cameras than he needs, I think he is a camera junkie. Anyway, US 275 for the camera, extra battery and case and 64mb mem
