hi there my camera stopped powering up not long ago so i took it to
the local repair shop. the technician told me that the mainboard was
fried - didn't say how, just that it was. his quote to fix was the
same as buying a new one give or take a few dollars.

free at the time. There are some issues with Athlon based systems, but

I bought a Nikon CoolPix 2500 several years ago so I could take quick
random pictures without lugging around my camera and lenses, but now I
would like to get a more functional digital camera.

Can anyone tell me how to use the Westcott Digital Calibration Target to set
white balance?  I got one, but without instructions.  On the Westcott
website there's a page for instructions but all the links are broken.

i am searching for a stand alone camera (webcam) which can upload a picture
on a button press.
It should be not too expensive and each picture must have a different
filename, so i get a picture series of each button press.

Is there any significant difference in the CCD element used in a digital
camera versus the one used in a video camera? Some video cameras use three
CCD's but the good digital cameras seem to get fantastic results with one
CCD. Am I missing something?

Looking to use a transportable hard drive (is that the right term) for my
"off site" back up of my digital photographs etc.  Need to be in the order
of min 250 gig (perhaps larger) and preferably with USB V1 and Firewire.

I recently purchased a pack of Konica inkjet paper (due to its price)
instead of my normal choice, Canon Photopaper Pro (PR101).  I used it with
my Canon I950 and achieved as good a result colour wise etc as the Canon

I bought a pentax Optio 430RS about 18 months ago. It broke after

A couple was on the beach in Thailand, taking pictures. The tsunami rolled
in and killed them, but they found their camera and recovered the photos off
it showing the waves rolling in.
