| Color temparture and calibration w/ ColorVision SpyderPRO | 20 Feb 2005 19:45 GMT | 4 |
I've noticed that there are quite a few people in this forum who use (and seem to be happy with) the ColorVision Spyder. I've got the pro version, and I've got quite a few problems with it. Perhaps I don't fully understand color calibration and color temperature.

Canon A70 PowerShot There are a bunch of teeny screws in this thing, but I still don't think I've taken all of them out, enough so that I can pry the case apart to see the guts. The little pins in the CF card slot got mashed, and I'm thinking

| Sony F828 Flash characteristics | 20 Feb 2005 16:48 GMT | 8 |
When taking flash pictures in the rain occasionally fainter "tails" show on rain drops illuminated by the flash. The puzzling thing is the tails are below the "head" of the raindrop, not above it as would be expected. They appear comet-like but if these were comets one would ...

| 2X or 1.4X converters on DSLRs, and the 'crop factor' | 20 Feb 2005 05:46 GMT | 8 |
Another poster has asked about a 2X Quantaray converter on a zoom lens. Many people in the 35mm film arena suggest never using more than a 1.4X converter because any imperfections in the lens (and the converter) are magnified, along with losses in contrast, saturation, and so on.
