Question on charging NIMH batteries21 Feb 2005 19:26 GMT8
We use NIMH batteries in our Canon A75 digital camera. They work fine and I
normally recharge them when they are just about out of charge.
But, we are going on vacation soon. I would guess that the current batteries
are maybe half-charged. Can I just charge them up now, or would ...
Nikon D70 and non-CPU lenses21 Feb 2005 19:13 GMT6
I have a D70 and am trying to figure out if it can be used at all with
non-cpu lenses.  I saw a picture taken with a D70 using a telescope, so I
figure this was non-cpu, but I cannot figure out how to do this.  I tried to
mimic a non-cpu lens with my ED 80-200mm zoom.  On this ...

Flash question - I own SB80021 Feb 2005 19:06 GMT1
I have SB800 and D70 but this may apply to others.  I'm new to flash
photography.  Do any of you think it's wise to use diffusion dome (with
flash bouncing off ceiling) and add a small white card (with velcro or
rubber bands) to brighten the eyes?  Is an index card the appropriate ...
Image size21 Feb 2005 17:40 GMT13
Sorry for such an obvious question but being relatively new to digital
photography I am still trying to understand file sizes etc.
I have been asked if I can save and send an image at 420mm x 300mm at
300 dpi.
Help! I need to buy an easy to use 4x6 printer for the wife!21 Feb 2005 16:28 GMT6
I love the lady dearly, but she  is completely void of technical know
how! I personally prefer to view the family prints on a 17" monitor,
however she wants hard copy so she can ............ put them in shoe
box with the rest? I'll sacrifice a little quality for ease of use. I
Where to print my 8x10s?  Experiences with Ritz, Costco, and my inkjet printer.21 Feb 2005 16:28 GMT2
I have about 30 8X10 photos that I need to print for a wedding album.
The image size is 3000 X 2400 pixels.  I used Photoshop to create these
images and some have text.  I had some printed out at Ritz Camera,
Costco, and also on my photo printer.  With Costco, I like the color

HORRID Experience with Sony Imagestation!21 Feb 2005 15:21 GMT10
I want to scream!
For a few years, we have used digital cameras on our vacations and then
had hardcover books of our trips made after our return. In the past, we
had always used MyPublisher.com who had web based software for creating
CompactFlash performance21 Feb 2005 15:15 GMT2
I'm in the process of purchasing a Nikon Coolpix 5400 (a $200 rebate
is in effect so the camera can be purchased for about $200 after
rebate)  and am researching CompactFlash cards.  What I haven't been
able to find out is whether a faster memory card would actually
Best camera under $400- Olympus C-765 Ultra Zoom?21 Feb 2005 14:45 GMT9
Hi, I'm looking for the best digital camera I can buy under $400, can
anyone recommend one? In the Nov 2004 issue of Consumer Reports the
Olympus C-765 seems to be one of the best. It's advantages are 10x

Can anyone confirm the serial numbers of US D70s?
I have 39004xx.  Was that US grey market to UK?
If I qualify for rebate, I'd like one.
Digital SLR Selection Criteria, web site move to: http://nordicgroup.us/digicam/dslrcriteria21 Feb 2005 13:30 GMT49
Because of the large number of hits on http://digitalcamerashortlist.com/,
and the bandwidth consumed by the graphics on that site, I have had to move
the Digital Camera Selection Criteria to a separate page..
The new page is: http://nordicgroup.us/digicam/dslrcriteria.html
