Why are DSLRs faster?28 Feb 2005 22:14 GMT31
One of the reasons I bought my D70 nwas because of the lack of "shutter
lag" and the very rapid response after turning the beast on.
I've been enjoying those features and many others.
Sigma EF-500 Super for Canon TTL Flash or 420DX & Canon G628 Feb 2005 21:54 GMT3
I already decided for a G6.
Now I am in doubt between the two flashes above.
I know the right one to compare with the Sigma would be the 550DX or
the 580DX but I excluded them for the price.

Does anyone have a older verion of the Nikon Coolpix 950 firmware?
Version 1.3 is available on Nikon's web-site. I installed it, but now I

Difference between print and screen28 Feb 2005 18:41 GMT11
What changes about image detail, jpeg artifacts, noise, etc when
printing compared to what you see on a monitor? I would assume the basic
effect is a burring and loss of quality/sharpness.
Interactive Slide Show with Pan & Zoom?28 Feb 2005 18:36 GMT2
I will be giving a series of presentations of historic photos on a laptop
projected through a LCD projector.
Can anybody recommend a slide show program that will allow me to manually
zoom and pan without cluttering up the screen with toolbars.  This needs to
Canon A20, OS X, and connectivity28 Feb 2005 16:25 GMT4
When I plug the USB cable into my Mac and into the A20, nothing shows up on
teh desktop. When I open iPhoto, the app recognizes the camera and I can
download the photos.
One or two other cameras I've plugged in show up on the desktop as a mounted
Case for Nikon D7028 Feb 2005 16:18 GMT1
I just purchased a D70 and would like a protective case.  The one
recommended for the D70 looks rather thin and flimsy with a little velcro
tab for closure.  However, the Nikon case for the D100 looks like a more
substantial rigid leather(vinyl ?) type case I have for my older film ...

Which Slide Scanning Quality?28 Feb 2005 10:05 GMT6
I am confused as to the best options to choose when having slides
scanned by a professional scanning firm in Tiff format
Firstly, there is a choice of resolutions - 1350, 2700 or 4000 dpi.
Secondly, the choice is either 8-bit or 16 bit.
Panasonic Lumix FZ428 Feb 2005 08:44 GMT1
I am interested in this camera because of the smaller size and weight
than the tank FZ20.  DOes anyone know when it will be available to buy?
Do you think it will be as good as the Fuji S5100?
Minolta DiMAGE A200  vs Panasonic DMC-FZ2028 Feb 2005 08:01 GMT1
Please help. I am totally confused. I don't want to go over the top as
I am not a photographer. I just wish to take good clear, fast pics of

Canon PowerShot A20 camera problem28 Feb 2005 05:42 GMT7
Found someone selling a Canon A20 digital camera that has a problem: it will
only operate with the AC adapter, not batteries. He says that Canon tells him
that this is a "semi-common" problem that crops up in older A20's. Sez Canon
will fix for $100. Not really worth it unless I ...
