I've recently dipped back into photography, digital SLR.  I'm now
thinking about subscribing to a magazine or two that covers mostly
techniques.  Not as interested in equipment reviews although I'm sure
most publications include reviews to some degree, although I'm sure lens
reviews would be helpful.

Any suggestions?

TIA,

Jim

Thanks, Patrick!  Been leaning towards popphoto.

Also after looking at your site, I see we have similar taste in
equipment.  I have the XTi, Sigma 150 2.8 Macro and Sigma 28-70 2.8 will
be delivered tomorrow.  My flash is the 430ex.  I purchased the lower
end Sigma 70-300 4-5.6 w/macro a few months ago but have been pleasantly
surprised with it.

Popular Photography and Shutterbug are the 2 that I have found most helpful.

I Like Popular Photography and Outdoor Photography.

I've subscribed to a couple of others off and on, but they seem to be a bit
thin or narrow on content - specifically PC Photo and American Photo.
Shutterbug is OK, but it is heavy on ads.

The smaller the fine print, the less you will like what it says.

Why don't you join NAPP for $99 and get their Photoshop magazine and, more
importantly, access to their web site video tutorials?
Using a dSLR without understanding post camera image processing does not
elevate your photography beyond sending your film to the corner drug store.
PopPhoto is venerable, and worthwhile, but a creature of their advertisers.
As such gear reviews are not necessarily reliable but probably the best in
printed media.
Shutterbug articles are written by an inbred bunch of old guys and are of
the quality of essays such as, "I like chocolate ice cream because . . ."

free... check out iTunes, they have LOTS of Photoshop free tutorials you can
download... once your through with all those resources, you might not need
to spend any money... Lynda.com is good too... kk
