Angle converter?

Does anyone know where I might find one of those little adaptors you fit
onto the lens to 'convert' the angle of the shot by 90 degrees so you can
take a candid shot of someone without them knowing?
I don't know if these things have a name, so I can't google for it. I've
tried, but keep getting info on wide angle lenses.

The very thing! Thanks a lot. Now to find one which fits a Canon EOS 10D.

I spend altogether too much time on eBay looking at old cameras.  :-)

That one comes with a choice of adapter rings to suit many lenses.

Yeah, I just noticed that. Wonder what the quality might be like when using
one of these? Guess I'll soon find out as I have the urge to buy one. I'd
use it to take shots of the kids and the dog...'and any gorgeous females I
might come across in my travels. lol.

I've put a shot on the alt.binaries.photography to show the kind of thing
I'd be after. ;-)

I'm on a text-only news server - can you do it in ASCII graphics?

:-)

Hmmm.  My father was surfing when he was 77.

It's pictures drawn with keyboard characters, a handy way of sending
simple diagrams on a text-only terminal.  You need to set your
newsreader to a fixed-width font like Courier New to view it properly.

That's a different thing altogether, but thanks anyway.
Damned if I can remember what it's called.

I think Adorama (adorama.com) still sells these devices.
