Hi All, just wondering if anyone can offer advice as to why my Sony Battery
was indicating flat, which resulted in me swapping to the spare battery to
finish taking photos, then as a test I swapped back to the 'flat' battery'
the next day, only to be able to take in excess of 1000 photos, I just sat
there taking photos of the same object just to see how long it would go for
before the camera would in fact turn off. It took over 2 hours - much to my
dissapointment as I would have taken more shots of the McNaughts Comet if I
had suspected the battery was indeed good to continue.

I have fully charged the battery since and it now indicates 186 minutes
available for use...

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated,
no I was not on drugs, alcohol, weed, just good ol' oxygen ;-)

cheers
Gus

I don't have a Sony now, but have extensively used their F717 and F828
cameras, and absolutely loved the InfoLithium thing.  It seemed to be
pretty accurate, always a little on the conservative side (which is
good) and I don't recall ever having a similar problem.  I would
suggest you check your battery contacts very carefully, both on the
battery and in the camera.

Thanks for the reply Mark,
I actually did that after I ran the battery flat, and thats when I got it
to display 186 minutes after the full charge, so it may well have been
that as the cause, odd though that the 330 battery (the spare) did not do
the same.
Maybe it had a better contact!

Let us know if it recurs.

One other thing - don't forget your *chargers* contacts also, although
that wouldn't have been your problem in this case..

cheers,

mt
