Well you could start here:

and then google

Got to love a fire fighter, paramedic and airplane pilot who's tag line
is "life's too short to drive LITE beer!" Hopefully you're not
drinking ANY beer when you are paramedicing, firefighting, or piloting.
But photographing is quite all right. :)

Both Hoya and B+W have online filter catalogs, with all sorts of
information. I don't know their URLs but you could surely find them quickly
with a Google search.
