I was hoping to get some input on how effective my website
(www.lawsonstudio.com) design is. Any comments are very much
appreciated. Thanks!

If you are a photography site then you should have them posted where
others can see them. At first it seems that the site is simply another
blog to be read. If you do not see photographs, then most people will
just leave.
Take a look at my site http://eworkhard.blogspot.com. I do not even
suggest that I am a professional, yet if someone is looking to see some
photographs they will stay and look through them.

I agree -- need photos up front. It's just another blog otherwise.

much more user intuitive and "it's a photo site" is the first thing in my
mind... kk

you are asking for comments... I don't want to sound cruel, but here is my
honest opinion...
where is the photography section? I don't see it as a website... all I see
is a "blog" with postings about ipods and many of me. etc...
if you are selling photography, people need to see a GOOD BIG pix IN YOUR
FACE, and at first glance I don't see ANY reference to it, only see it after
reading the fine print... ... kk

As a photographers Website its not effective...
"This website was started with the intention of increasing the exposure of
my photographs."
...but it look like a blog.
Make the photo's easy to access and cut out all the chitter-chatter

Jono,
I'm clicking all over the place and haven't seen a single photograph.
The word "Photograph" comes in paragraph 3.
You're all over the place: iTune, How many Me, New Photographs (none to be
seen), Link, Become a member, Logo, etc.
What's the object of your page? You seem to treat anything and everything...
A website has to have a distinc reason of being, an objective. This has to
be reflected. Anyway, what is Lawson Studio?
Dont' forget the word KISS (Keep it simple stupid). Your website is a
mishmash.
Sorry, but that's what it is.
Marcel
