No matter what I use to download phtos, they are out of order.
if i later select "vew by date' they are still out of order, but
presumably on the same day.
Is this a feature of sandisk, or am i doing somthing wrong?

My sandisk doesn't do that. Is your problem all files all directories;
or just some? How do you download them?
Sounds familiar- with a problem with the *.db file in the directory.
What OS? XP? Have you tried creating a directory and then copying
some of the pics to that new dir and then seeing if the problem
persists. If it doesn't then it's related to the directory you took
them out of...if it does then could be the file attributes or the os
(unless not all files-all dirs).

Default in Windows directories is a sort by name. One can
set to sort by other parameters, such as date.
