Hi,

It seems the EOS1 is hard to find now these days.
Is there a better film camera out there now?
The camera should be a Canon 35mm semi pro/pro.
Thank you for any tips and links to suppliers with specials/good prices.

Cheers

Not that hard to find serious film cameras.

I might also mention that Gery Gibbs Camera House in Perth had an EOS 3
body only for $595 in lovely condition at least one week ago.

The average price for an EOS 1/n seems to be around $500. EOS1V are
still expensive. I haven't seen any real cheap ones.

You can buy Minolta 700si and 800si cameras for a song (sub $300 with
lens) these days.

Nothing wrong with good Minolta glass :)

Still there today.

1N $470-or so, but it has gone. No Booster though. (Am I the only one who
considers that a 1 includes the booster...)

They still have a 1v with booster for $2700 odd. And a 70-200 2.8L
for $1200ish that is well useed and a bit ordinary...

They also have the 1D II N as of Wed. And a butt load of 5Ds.

Perhaps new it is indeed hard, given it's getting a bit old
in the tooth?

Is there ever!

Ah! See? This is where the fly gets in the ointment:
the expressions "sami pro/pro" and "Canon 35mm"
don't make sense together...
;)

Like Nikonf4 suggested: go to ebay, do some searches.
Have a look as well at international suppliers: the way
some of the folks in Australia are advertising on ebay,
they're pricing themselves off the market. There are
definitely better deals overseas. Also: see folks like
europeancameras.com.au and keh.com: they seem to have
good deals, with warranty.

Good luck

PS: Please take my comments on "pro" with
suitable amounts of salt and pepper, tah?

drop the au for europeancameras.com, but that would be for Nikon I presume.
Subject line was keen for Canon.

Good point, in my three second glance it appeared to cater to one brand.
Will have a squizz later.
