Hi all,

I spoke to some guy the other day who reckoned that Miranda 1970's
SLRs were way under-rated and as good as any Nikon. Is that true? Do
they have the same build quality and give the same results for less
$??

Thanks,

G.

Mirandas were just as capable as any other model.. In my opinion they
were way underrated.

I've owned a few over the years and would use them again..

Quality wise, Mirandas suffered from little use thus the need for
service..

No, they were rated about right...not that great but not terrible
cameras.

Miranda made some top quality models such as Sensorex, F, FV, and D.
There are others but the above were my favorites.

These cameras are still very reliable and capable of doing as god as
any other 35mm model.

Miranda even had some excellent glass..

They were just OK. As I recall, they had some odd designs - like
buttons and knobs in strange places that worked in odd ways.

The older one did but the above named models + others were laid out as
any other 35mm camera..

Some had the shutter button on the front side where it could be easily
used by the first finger while others had the button relocated to the
top plate

Mirandas were and still are high quality cameras, they just didn't
have the following that others did..

Below is a site which shows most of the models made..

A lot of people. Afterall, discussions  about such things as Mirandas
are what this group is all about..

>MORON!

Don't be so hard on yourself...idiot is a good enough word to describe
yourself..

Yes, it was good. It was reversed engineered from the Leica. I've got one
for 30 years and still clicking along. The later Sensorex I had busted after
a few rolls.
