Good replacement for digtal rebel lens?

looking for something with some more range and more sharpness for a half
decent price.  thinking in the 28-110mm range or so...

I like the 28-135 IS, but you may want something cheaper.

I am very happy with it, too. The IS does function

Take a look at the Canon 28-105 USM II.  It's a steal at around $210, and
significantly lighter than the 28-135 IS.

It looks pretty sweet but I dunno if I can justify that much on a lens right
now, I'm picking up a lowepro dryzoon 200 today I think.  the 28-105 sound
like it would hold me over till I can afford IS.  Can you guys tell me how
slow you can shoot with IS?  Does it work good?  Is it fairly rugged?  Right
now my camera is travelling around on a mobile crane all day with me.  I got
some good work pics comming up soon :-).

Nope, this lens, about 1/3 less than the 17-85.

couldn't find it at Camera Canada, maybe you can find it at another retailer
there.
