I'm about to take a month-long trip to Peru, and I'm very tempted to
take my DSLR and a few lenses with me rather than a P&S. My problem
is that I can't afford the cost of losing that kind off equipment.
I'm not a professional, though I spend a bit of time doing
photography. Can anyone recommend insurance for camera equipment
while you're traveling? My own insurance company maxes out at $1500
(which is below the cost of the body).
One place I found on the web is TCP, but the cost of insuring my
equipment is about $500 per year, which is pretty steep (especially
since I just want insurance for a month).

Talk to our insurance broker and get rider that lists all your equipment.
