A month ago I went to UNC's Botanical Gardens and posted some shots from the
5D.  These are from a roll of XP2 that I finally had processed.

Very nice technical work on the B&W.  Just one problem:  the tree limb
competes with your subject for attention.  Any way you could have moved
around to avoid the tree?

Thanks for looking.  More trees or more chainlink? :-(  I suppose I could
blur it in PS to take the edge off? -Jim

If you had a tree on either side of the stone monument, you could place them
at the edge of your frame to "frame" the subject.  It would be much more
powerful.

Nice!  More reasons to love XP2.

I was actually trying to use up the last of the XP2 that I have.  One more
roll to go...
Harry, did you ever get to try out the Kodak's BW400CN? - Jim

Yes, Jim, I did, but the results were inconclusive.  I intend to load my
two rfs, one with Kodak, the other with Ilford, then shoot identical
scenes (with the same lens) for an accurate comparison.  I still have 5
rolls of XP2 to go.

Lovely contrast and tones Jim.  Very clean & sharp.  What film camera
did you use?

I'm going to Charlotte NC, just for a couple of days.  I hope I have
time to visit the Botanical Gardens.

A little USM goes along way.  This was the Elan II and Canon's 1.4 50mm.
It's a very nice lens, but for most stuff the 1.8 would do as well, better
for the cost difference.

The Botanical Gardens at UNC Chapel Hill are about a 2 hour drive, but you
do go right by my house. :-)

Is it me or does the color seem just a bit off in this one?

"Helen" stop harassing me! :-)

I scanned it in grayscale so the purple masking wouldn't show.
The HTML links are blue so you can tell if your monitor is going south.

Maybe he got too involved with making money to be able to bother with us
anymore........

You can make loads of money while stimulating.  You just got to know how to
use your time wisely.

Very nice. I'll bet a (silver) print would be amazing...
