If by stickers you might mean labels, the Dymo LabelWriter series are
very compact and print from rolls of labels of different sizes:

Will it print the photos in color on the stickers?
I've seen those sticker sets that on the same size paper as used for
4x6 photos, but I'm not sure if it requires special software.

Yes but the Dymos are thermal printers and print only in black and
white, and with a tonal range most suited to logos and simple graphics,
not to photos. But mainly, black and white

Exactly. I do not want black and white. I want to print out color
photos on stickers. It would be super helpful if the printer is
portable.
I need a portable printer with the ability to print on 4x6. I've seen
packages of stickers in that size.
Please suggest a good portable printer.

There are only a handful of truly portable printers that print 4x6,
directly from the camera or computer via mini USB. It's really not such
a hard thing to google for yourself.
No offense intended, but there are at most something like five or six
printers like you are describing.

You haven't said how your going to get the pictures from camera to the
printer. Do you need a printer that accepts memory cards. Is your camera
PictBridge compliant? Are you going to use a PC/laptop/PDA in between?
For some reason I thought of Kodak. These are PictBridge Compliant. I'll
leave it to you to see if they go together and are "portable" enough. 24volt
would mean they couldn't be powered directly from a car. If you can use it
in a car an inverter could be used. To make it truly portable, Black and
Decker and others sell battery powered inverters that would probably make
them portable. No power requirement given so can't say for sure. It also can
be used for backup power for other devices. Portable means different things
to different people/situations.

I got an inverter for my car a long time ago to keep from having to buy DC
adapters for devices that should have came with them instead of AC wallwarts
anyway.
Hope my thoughts are at least a little bit helpful.
