Wondering if anyone has checked this out yet.

Yes, I have. Tried it yesterday. After signing up, it said to go to your
e-mail NOW to complete the signup. After signing on several times, I gave
up. Finally several hours later the e-mail came in and I was able to use
the site.
To me it was confusing at first. A lot of black edges. You'll see when you
go to it. As it is a Beta, maybe it will get better. It's a great idea.

I did get around to trying it yesterday. My conclusion: I think it's a lot
of bother to do basic photo editing. Also quite slow, even with a
broadband connection. Entire process is too tedious for routine use.
